When was the last time you sat around a campfire with like-minded individuals and really talked about why you’re doing what you’re doing?

If you enjoy the prepared citizen lifestyle and you are posting on social media, you have to understand the optics that you’re presenting to the world. Just owning the gear that we use makes you more credible of a threat to authority figures than most of their opponents. They will perceive you as a credible threat.

Although being a credible threat is the purpose of the second amendment, and you are fully within your legal right to do so, that doesn’t mean you aren’t putting yourself at risk.

Consider gathering around the campfire with your boys and talking about what being a prepared citizen really means to your group.

Where do you draw your lines in the sand?
What do real threats look like?
What would the implications of action be?
Are you genuinely capable of dealing with the issues you perceive? by @colorado_contingency

Your dad lore is weak.

Don’t squander your youth. Do insane things that others are scared of doing.

When your kid is hanging out with their friends, what will they say about you?

Are you inspiring the next generation?

No one cares you went to the club. That’s easy. Kids want to hear about adventures and triumph.

Turn your life into an epic. Become the idealized version of you for them.

Be insane….for the kids! by @colorado_contingency

Today members from Task Force Pit Vipers for @colorado_contingency conducted our first ever volunteer project in our local community! Members showed up to a local farm where they then constructed a composting site. We are excited to continue our local outreach and volunteer work to better the community around us.

This is an excellent reminder that while guns, gear, training, and preparedness are cool and necessary, so is getting involved with giving back to the community around us.

This weekend Task Force Pit Viper hosted Land Navigation training for all COCON members.

Training focused heavily on learning the basics of how to read a topographic map, use a compass, and how to plot points using a map protractor.

This is your reminder that you may not be able to rely on GPS or electronic systems in the future. Knowing how to do things the old or hard way is beneficial to you and your community.

Range days are fun, but a truly capable man needs to know more than just how to put holes in paper.

@colorado_contingency recently put on a introductory ropes course where we learned the basics of rappelling and then put our newly learned skills to the test.

Every new skill makes you more useful to your families, your neighbors, and your community as a whole. Get after it.

A fun class the boys spun up for everyone. This was 1 of many more to come as we aim to have our prospects and members proficient in this essential task of mountaineering. A truly nessisary skill not only for traversing the rocky mountains, but rigging a casualty, learning different knots, and so much more! Special thanks to @jnb_tactical_gear for driving this event!

The fight goes on, the hordes of wendigos still persists. May the souls of all the new members and prospects we've lost find peace. This infestation of the mountains shall be dealt with swiftly. God Speed Boys.
