Whom just made it to the Shortlist for The Makeup and Hairstyling Oscars for their work on “Waltzing With Brando”! BTS! & an FYC! The American Horror Story Delicate Part 1 Campaign, such a labor of love! With a cool Spider 🕷️ theme it was a fun challenge to do creepy but beautiful spider looks. The wigs were precisely made in duplicate looks to match each dancer. And flawlessly executed by my fabulous hair team! There were several looks per each, Spider witches that turned into spider nurses that turned into creepy spiders climbing on walls then beautifully dancing in unison! In just a few days and on 2 different coasts, while supporting 4 different units at once on several stages, we tested look after look even into our shoot days. We created various stages of lashes using paper and meticulously cutting and styling each day per each dancer. Every beauty detail was created in real time and was custom made. The nails and even the polish colors, the eye colors that were mixed according to the lighting on set and the custom lip colors! Each formula was unique to the action and lighting. Mixed by the talented @jessica_camper_mua from @bespokeprodesigns for us! The life sized spider, the baby bellies, all the eye brow covers and articulating witch fingers all done in just days. Many sets of devil hands and a beautiful silicon baby! So many details and such little time. Proud of this campaign and all our custom details! An incredible honor to be Nominated by the talented Artisans of the Local 706. With final Voting started, I’d like to share the work we are so proud of. Thank you to my Key, Alyssa Morgan for making the initial shout out to my team while I was in the weeds. My team worked tirelessly on 2 different coasts to help me bring the incredible vision of my FX family to life. My many years with my FX family has been so very special to me. So many campaigns and so many memories. Each one is so special in their own way. This one is no exception. So many micro details, so many nuances, the devil is for sure in the details on this one. Thank you Stephanie Gibbons for your trust and loyalty. It’s never lost on me what I get to do with you. From the many many styles of handmade spider lashes, to the custom high shine red gloss colors, to how the idea of removing all eyebrows to get that spider look, your genius never surprises me, and thank goodness Kim & Cara were great sports about it all!. It truly does take a village, and while my village has changed over the years, it is always beautiful whom I get to add to my family along the way. Thank you Jason Collins for always being my constant. The many sets of articulating spider hands, the flawless baby belly, the 2!
