I still marvel at how amazing digital artwork can be once printed. That rush of excitement as you first see the prints transform from bits to atoms.

1. “She’s a Rainbow” echoes that psychedelically twinged cult-classic song by The Rolling Stones in more ways than one. Apart from the obvious connection in the visual sense, the actual image probably has resonance because of its mycelium connection - the shot is of a bunch of rainbow oyster mushrooms, taken with a dose of long exposure and camera movement.

2. “Walk the Line” as a title for sure has echoes of Johnny Cash’s ‘I Walk the Line’. But looking at this image, which line is it that needs to be walked? They blend, intersect, disapper. And who says you have to choose only one line at time.
Moving forward doesn’t always mean straight ahead. Geez...don’t I know it.
“Pathmaker, there is no path, You make the path by walking. By walking, you make the path ...”
- Antonio Machado
It’s amazing what a collection of colourful material ribbons can evoke if you squint long enough at them.

3. Can you see the guitar? “Fender Blender” is a kinetic shot of a band l’ve photographed for many years - Taxi Violence, a Cape Town rock band.
Oh man did I have fun being in the thick of their acts on festival stages, ears ringing, with the sheer exhilaration of their high energy act coursing through my system long after they’ve finished their set. (Substrate: Diasec).
