This is why.

In June, Christan Tyson, a longtime client and friend of FRGS, discovered a lump near his tonsil in a lymph node. By July, tests confirmed it was squamous cell carcinoma, a type of head and neck cancer. His treatment began in August and included 8 chemotherapy sessions and 30 radiation treatments.

Despite the rigorous treatments, Christan was determined to make a once-in-a-lifetime trip he had previously planned. Just days before the scheduled departure, he was in and out of the hospital, uncertain if he would even be able to go. But Christan is a fighter—he didn’t give up on his dreams. As we traveled to Canada, his doctor texted him, saying, “Christan, you are truly one in a million.”

What was once a trip that seemed impossible turned into an incredible journey, leaving a lasting impact on everyone involved.

As a guide, moments like these can be rare, but they are what fuel my passion. The opportunity to meet remarkable people and share the gospel is truly unmatched.

From a young age, God instilled in me a deep passion for hunting and fishing. Growing up, I was always aware of this obsession but often found myself questioning my purpose.

Over time, I’ve come to realize that God gave me these gifts not just for my own fulfillment, but to spread His word and make His presence known in everything I do. With this understanding, I am fully committed to living out that purpose.

Let the season begin!
