Rebuilt & returned to marathon running after a short 15 year break
POSTS STORIES REELS
Two Cities Marathon! A beautiful race in Central California with fall nature and urban views! Flat and great for a PR! I love to make videos of races so I can look back on them for motivation. I ran a 4:06, a 51-minute improvement from my LA Marathon time in 2011. I wish I had taken more video of the scenery but I was really trying to get a good time 😅 #twocitiesmarathon #2citiesmarathon #fresno #marathon #clovis by @comeback_runner_

Was so close to a sub 4. I’m happy if this is the best I ever do! I didn’t know I could run this fast!!! #marathon #fleetfeet #fresno #lamarathon2011 #twocitiesmarathon by @comeback_runner_
I just ran my second marathon! This was the first one in 15 years. A dream I kept meaning to return to and finally did it! #twocitiesmarathon #2citiesmarathon #fresno #cloviscalifornia #marathon by @comeback_runner_

The fun part was the running 😩 🤮 aiming for 2 days of 730g of carbs per day starting tomorrow. Also I have really fallen off this week and barely ran at all 🤪 taking tapering to the next level #carbload #marathon #runner #carboloading #marathoner by @comeback_runner_
This is a picture of me at the SF marathon (I ran the Bridge Half) in July! This was my first organized race in years. A few people have asked me why I originally wanted to run a marathon. When I was younger, my dream was always to live in Los Angeles. Any time I would visit, I would see the LA Marathon mural on the I-405 and was really drawn to it (as an artist myself). I had no background in running at all. When I finally did move to LA, I would commute past it and did some research. Running 26 miles seemed insurmountable - how could people do that? I finally decided to join my college marathon team, and became like one of the people on the mural. It is really unbelievable I let 15 years slip by and is a wake up call to stop putting myself last and treating things that are important to me as optional. This was the year I finally built myself back up after three kids, a demanding career, exhaustion, and excuses. And you had better believe I am not letting another 15 years pass after completing marathon 2 on Sunday! #runner #running #marathon #2citiesmarathon #lamarathon by @comeback_runner_
When this pic was taken, I had already spent 4 years running on a treadmill in a corner of the gym because I didn’t think I was a “real runner.” I am now ready for marathon 2 fifteen years later, but almost didn’t join the training team because I genuinely feared I was “too slow” and would be “asked to leave” 😂 I FINALLY rebuilt my fitness quite literally one step at a time after excuses, major life transitions, having kids, and lack of self confidence. See you at the start line 🙂 #2citiesmarathon #fresno #uscmarathonteam #fleetfeetfresno #lamarathon by @comeback_runner_

20 miles and speeding up a few seconds each run 🥲 THE CARB LOAD WORKED, I hit no wall and had lots of energy! And 90-100g/carbs an hour mixing sugar types! Also increased sodium intake #marathon #runner #marathontraining #motherrunner by @comeback_runner_
