Nice weekend reconning trails out at Wambenger National Park near Collie WA. Been a while since we were here last. Lots of features we've cleaned easy last year, all of a sudden had us having to stop and think about... Weird how that works. 🤷

Anyway, no serious injuries or mechanicals, good times with friends had, prime views from the camp site, and the weather was unbelievable. Can't ask for much more than that.

Great weekend of riding with a big squad of mates here on the local trails! Jahla finished with a P2 position in the women's full enduro category today, and I forced her to get a pic with her photo that's on the race trailer from her category win from last year.

We are dialling back on racing this year to focus on other projects, but we still have a few booked in throughout the year to make an appearance at... 🤫

Congratulations to Jahla for your 2025 WA Gravity Enduro Women's Full Enduro series P1 result! Lots of work went into this result over this year. At the gym early most mornings, riding as often as possible, challenging ourselves on advanced trails and features, and riding shoulder to shoulder with some seriously talented and inspiring ladies at the various race events across Western Australia.

Now that the 2025 mtb race season has wrapped up, we are looking forward to spending more time working on personal projects, designing our new home, spending time in the ocean, and hanging out with mates in town for rides or dinner nights.

As we were both constantly on the move riding and racing this weekend, there's not a great deal of footage, but we do have a handful of clips that will get stitched together this week as a little edit to show you fine folk the sort of janky, natural trails we were battling with.

And a shout out again to the legends at our local independent cycle store @lifecyclebikesmargaretriver for the support over this and previous years.

Having an absolute blast on the 'Salvaje', Karl's latest addition, which is a custom @marinobike steel hardtail that was hand made in Peru. Scored a few shiny new bits for it from the Raceface bargain bin. It's looking and riding perfect.

We're now thinking about a bit of a Aus MTB road trip over winter and spring this or next year, and considering which bikes to take with us. Hardcore hardtail, or the full suspension trail MTB?

Any suggestions of epic adventure MTB trails in Australia which would suit an aggressive trail hardtail? We're talking 20-30km loops, lots of fun technical and flowy singletrack, some big climbs and descents, beautiful natural scenery and all that good stuff. 🌳

Had a few visits to @lingalongabikepark in the past couple of months. Ticking off some new trails and features, as well as coming back to some old favourites. 🤠

We're overdue for a road trip east to do some riding soon! Having our MTBs in the van opens up so many opportunities for adventures when the surf is no good.

PS. No Jahlas or bikes were harmed making this video! She managed to bail dive into a soft pile of pine needles and avoid the tree!

First ride on the new whip. Custom Reynolds 520 enduro steel hardtail hand built by the masters at @marinobike in Peru. The 'Salvaje' is built up with mostly spare parts accumulated over the years.

Details for the bike geeks: 29er front and rear on Bontrager wheels and Maxxis tyres, 150mm Fox 36 fork, 64.5° HTA, 76.5° STA and 465mm reach. Effectively a medium large size. Plus, it's mullet ready... 🎣

Absolutely stoked with how it turned out! Can't wait to take it on some adventures.

Nice few days bikepacking with the bro on the Munda Biddi trail from Pemberton to Walpole this year. Weather was amazing, bikes rode well, legs held up. Can't complain! The Sprinter van felt like a palace though when we got back. 😍

"Home is where you park it". It's become a cliche phrase over the years, losing its original significance as aging millennials slide into corporate servitude and domecile lifestyles. Or maybe it's always been hollow, and we didn't realise it at the time, buoyed by a sense of adventure and optimism. But there's still moments like these, at least for us, that make it ring truer than ever.
