With fall officially beginning Sept. 22, a developing weather pattern known as an "El Niño" could bring needed moisture to drought-stressed pastures, livestock ponds and late-planted soybeans.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration gives the El Niño a greater than 90% chance of becoming very strong during fall and into winter.

A matchup between No. 14 Mizzou and Texas A&M had the makings of an ugly slugfest, and it turned into just that for most of Saturday afternoon. But it was MU that showed it can win without looking pretty in a 27-6 win at Memorial Stadium.

The Mizzou victory boosted its record to 5-1, marking a fourth straight season the Tigers have started with that record. The victory also snapped a three-game losing streak to Texas A&M, including ugly losses in 2024 and 2025.

“It wasn’t pretty at times, but that’s an old-fashioned SEC game right there,” MU coach Eli Drinkwitz said following the win. “I knew matchup-wise they were really good on defense and they were really good on offense and their front, they’re old-school SEC football, and I knew it was going to be a hard-fought game.”

The past year, all across the U.S., rabies inquires have seen a significant increase, leading to a CDC health alert last month. With the high fatality rate, this has caused a ton of concern for people nationwide.

Missouri specifically has had 36 cases this year, mostly in bats and skunks, leading to specialists detailing strategies for Missourians to steer clear of the risk of rabies.

The University of Missouri celebrated its 115th Homecoming with a festive parade through campus and downtown Columbia, drawing alumni from across the country back to campus.

The parade centered on the theme "Forever Faurotcious," celebrating 100 years of Memorial Stadium.
