I’m proud to see new solar street lights installed in the Driftwood neighborhood near Bicentennial Park, providing better lighting and visibility for residents.

I may be termed out soon, but I’ll keep working for you until our new commissioner is elected in November. I’m committed to finishing strong and continuing to deliver the improvements our neighborhoods deserve.

Thank You, Hollywood

Twenty-six years ago, I took my first oath of office. I never imagined that what began as a desire to give back to the community that had already given me so much would become the privilege of serving the people of Hollywood for more than a quarter century.

When I moved to Hollywood 40 years ago, I found more than a city, I found a community. It became the place where Donna and I built our lives together, raised our daughter Ciara, grew our business, and formed friendships that will last a lifetime. Those experiences shaped my belief that public service is about leaving your community better than you found it.

During my 14 years on the City Commission, we accomplished so much together. We expanded emergency medical service to the west side with the addition of Rescue 245, rebuilt Fire Station 45, invested in parks, sidewalks, infrastructure, public safety, and neighborhood improvements, and created new opportunities for residents to connect through community events. We also tackled long-term challenges that will benefit Hollywood for generations to come.

None of these accomplishments belong to one person. They reflect the dedication of City employees, volunteers, neighborhood leaders, my fellow elected officials, and residents who cared enough to get involved. Progress has always been a team effort.

As my time on the City Commission comes to an end because of term limits, my commitment to Hollywood does not. I may be leaving elected office, but I'll never stop caring about the future of the city that has given so much to me and my family.

More than 40 years ago, Hollywood became my home. For the past 26 years, serving that home has been the greatest honor of my life. A principle I first learned as a young Jaycee has guided me every step of the way: "Service to Humanity is the Best Work of Life." Thank you for allowing me to live those words every day. It has truly been the privilege of a lifetime.

Happy Independence Day, Hollywood!

As we celebrate the birth of our nation, I'm reminded of how fortunate I've been to spend so many Independence Days with this incredible community.

For the past 14 years as your District 5 Commissioner—and more than 26 years in public service—I've had the privilege of celebrating with you at neighborhood events, concerts, parades, and fireworks. Those memories are ones I'll always cherish.

As this is my final Fourth of July serving as your Commissioner, I simply want to say thank you. Thank you for your trust, your friendship, and the opportunity to serve the city that Donna, Ciara, Lake and I are proud to call home.

Today, let's celebrate the freedoms we enjoy, remember those who fought to protect them, and appreciate the everyday heroes who continue to serve our nation and our community.

🚨 District 5 Update – Quick Response to a Safety Concern 🚨
Earlier today, a resident contacted me regarding a large tree branch that had fallen and was blocking 72nd Terrace just south of Charleston Street, creating a potentially dangerous situation for motorists and pedestrians.
After visiting the location to assess the issue, I immediately notified our Public Works Department. I'm pleased to report that a Public Works crew responded promptly and removed the obstruction, restoring safe access to the roadway.
A special thank you to Michael Charnin for bringing this issue to my attention. This is a great example of how residents and local government can work together to keep our neighborhoods safe.
I also want to thank our dedicated Public Works team for their quick response and commitment to serving our community.
