📣 We are excited to share that beginning this summer, Commonpoint Queens will be known as Commonpoint! Over the past six years since we’ve merged, we’ve grown from serving 35,000 community members across 33 locations mainly in Queens to over 125,000 people of all ages and abilities across 95+ locations from the Bronx to Virginia Beach! The beautiful thing about Queens is that it brings people together with shared differences to form a community that can thrive together. And it’s with the spirit of Queens that we will remain committed under the new simplified banner of Commonpoint to providing opportunities for people of different backgrounds, cultures, ages, and beliefs to connect and grow together. Your needs will change, but we will be your constant. Stay tuned for more updates, and be on the lookout for the next Commonpoint program to open near you.

Not only are our friends at Clayton, Dubilier & Rice amazing partners for our Workforce Services division, they’re also incredibly generous with their energy and expertise as volunteers. Last week they spent a day at our @commonpointbronx making over 400 hygiene kits and scarves, serving lunch, and spending quality time with our older adults, ESOL, HSE Career Readiness and Vocational Training students. Thank you!

We can’t think of a better neighborhood for this: The Longest Table Event is on Sunday, October 18th from 1pm-3pm at Commonpoint Central Queens in Forest Hills.

The Longest Table is a community-building event designed to bring people together around one shared table, creating space for conversation, connection, food, and new relationships. With support from UJA, we’re bringing together community members, organizations, colleagues, and partners to celebrate what happens when we come together as a community. There are a few different options for participants:

• come as a volunteer. to help set up, greet people, interact with everyone, clean up
• table captain: you are responsible for one table. You invite 8 people to come join you.
• just a guest: get placed at a table to come sit and mingle!

And it’s all potluck style. You’re bringing food for yourself, for your table. If you’re joining a table with friends and people you know, you can decorate the table, come up with a theme.

That’s it! Just a beautiful show of community and enjoying a nice day and meal together.
