Community Curry, 2026. Here’s what we’ve been up to.

Since starting in 2025, we’ve cooked and shared 650+ meals and raised approximately $4,000 with your support.

Two fundraisers at The Bird. Interviews and promotion through RTRFM and ABC Perth. Meals shared across Perth CBD and Northbridge, and food donated to support community gatherings.

To everyone who has cooked, volunteered, performed, donated or spread the word: thank you.

After a pause for health, work and life, we’re getting ready to return to regular meal rounds. Want to be part of the next chapter? Sign up through the link in our bio.

Community care is power.

Round 4 & 5 🥘🤎
I went quiet for a while because my health needed me — but Community Curry kept pulling me back.
Round 4 was powered by the sweetest volunteers. Round 5 was a solo holiday-season round, because the need doesn’t pause for Christmas.

If you’ve got capacity this season: donate, volunteer, or support local homelessness services. A meal is never just a meal.

Community Curry started as a pot of food and a feeling that no one should feel forgotten at dinner time.

Sitting in this RTRFM studio, I realised: the curry is just the vessel.
What we’re really serving is dignity, belonging and love.

If we want a better society, we need more tables, not more walls.
Start with a meal. Start with a neighbour. Watch what grows. 🍛✨

Tag someone you’d share a plate with. 🧡

Thanks to @rtrfm @ray_brahma_and_friends @perthindymedia for having me on Indymedia.

COMMUNITY CURRY — ROUND 3 🌙✨

This one hit different.
We cooked 50 meals using our first new Community Curry recipe, timed around Diwali — because everyone deserves light.

All 50 were handed out in under 2 hours. People were chasing us down for seconds.
I was joined by 4 amazing volunteers who helped share food, warmth, and love.

💛 Thank you to everyone who’s donated — we’ve now raised over $1,000.
That money is still untouched while I use personal funds to get this project standing strong. Every bit of support keeps us going.

We do this because a lot of people fall through the cracks —
those who can’t make it to the food kitchens in time,
those without transport, or those who need food where they are.
We show up on the days when most kitchens are closed.

This round happened after marching against a racist anti-immigration protest.
It felt right to end the day spreading love instead of hate.

Community care is power.
Happy Diwali, everyone. ✨

This week we cooked 45 hot meals and handed them out in less than an hour. 🍛

Thanks to $330 in donations, we can keep buying ingredients and cooking more for the next rounds. On Sundays when kitchens are closed, these meals mean a lot — one woman told us she usually only gets one frozen meal a day.

Every bit of support helps us keep The Community Curry going. 🤎✊🏾

Last time we cooked 22 hot meals for the community 🍛✨
This weekend, we’re aiming even higher — 44 meals for those who need it most.

💰 Donations are our biggest need right now — every bit goes directly into food and supplies.
🙋🏽‍♂️ We’re also looking for 5–8 volunteers to help cook and serve.

Community care is power. If each of us did one small act like this, imagine the world we’d build together. 💛

Thank you to everyone who’s supported so far — let’s keep this going! 🙏

Please keep in mind the responsibility involved when working with vulnerable people. 💛

Together, we can make this happen. Thank you for your support! 🙏
