On Sunday we were honored to be awarded 3rd place @frenchlydoesit Best Croissant Competition! Thank you to the judges, and to everyone who nominated us to be finalists in the event.

What makes this so meaningful to us is that in 2018, four months before we would host our first pop-up as Compagnon, we attended the Best Croissant Competition while working as bakers for a very popular San Francisco bakery (yes we both worked there, no it wasn't the first place we worked together...we've worked together a loooooong time). To return as finalists 8 years later with our very own croissants was an honor in and of itself, but to then place—in our very first competition!—means everything to us.

A bakery is never a solo endeavor, even for a tiny operation like ours. All of this is made possible by everyone who has ever supported us, helped us, and believed in us over the years. 8 years of Compagnon!🌾

8 years (and 12 days) ago, we had our first pop-up as Compagnon Bakery at @ponsfordsplace. We had no idea the places it would take us, from Marin to New Orleans and back to San Francisco. Eight years of joy, heartbreak, tears, laughter, frustration, kindness, naps on flour sacks and recipe testing and failures and successes. Eight years of learning to put ourselves out there and never once regretting it, meeting the best people imaginable and finding our place over and over and over again. Eight years!

No matter where we met you along our journey, you played a role in Compagnon. Every handwritten note, every card, every gift, every kind gesture and compliment, every memory — we saved it all. Thank you for being there with us through it all. by @compagnonbakery
