Today was one of those days that reminded us exactly why H.E.R. Strength exists. 💗 Our Breast Cancer Fundraiser was so much more than an event. It was a room filled with love, strength, tears, courage, and women showing up for one another. A heartfelt thank you to Lisa Robino, RN, CBCN, for sharing your time, knowledge, and passion for breast cancer education. We are so grateful for everything you taught us today. And to our beautiful H.E.R. members, Ms. Jessica and Ms. Trista, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Thank you for trusting us with your stories, for being vulnerable, and for sharing experiences that have forever changed your lives. Your strength goes far beyond anything we could ever lift inside these gym walls. There is something so powerful about women coming together, not just to celebrate the good moments, but to hold space for the hard ones too. At H.E.R., we talk a lot about getting stronger, but today reminded us that strength looks different on everyone. Sometimes it’s lifting a heavy barbell, sometimes it’s finding the courage to share your story, and sometimes it’s simply showing up for someone who needs you. 🚨 31 SURVIVORS. NOW 17. 💗⁠ ⁠ We started October with 31 cancer survivors waiting for support through Compete for a Cure.⁠ ⁠ Today? We're down to 17.⁠ ⁠ That means 14 REAL survivors are no longer on our waiting list.⁠ ⁠ 14 women who now have access to the support they need to rebuild their strength, prioritize their health, and THRIVE beyond cancer.⁠ ⁠ THIS is what your donations are doing.⁠ ⁠ Every fundraiser. A member just told you they have cancer. What do you do first? Good intentions can lead to overcompensation, and that can make recovery harder. On a recent webinar @stronginsurrey, Head of Exercise Oncology at @competeforacure, educated us on what to do and what to avoid when trying to support a member through diagnosis. If you want a resource to help educate your coaches on proper communication, specialist referrals, and safe training, comment SAFE and we’ll DM you a checklist. by @competeforacure

💖Sweat for a cause. Show up for a community. Make a difference. This past Saturday, our Tailwinds community came together for Compete for a Cure, and WOW. 🙌 Athletes showed up, put in the work, cheered each other on, and turned a workout into something bigger than ourselves. 💪 Together, we raised just under $2,000 to support the Thrive program! ❤️ This is what community looks like. Showing up, sweating together, supporting a cause that matters, and proving that what we do inside these gym walls can make an impact far beyond them. When a community shows up, AMAZING things happen! 💪🏾💗 What an incredible morning at CrossFit Tailwinds in Jacksonville, supporting Compete for a Cure! 🎗️ Their original fundraising goal was $500… but apparently nobody told this amazing community there was supposed to be a limit! 😂 They kept showing up, donating, and crushing goals, forcing that fundraising bar to be raised AGAIN and AGAIN! 🔥👏🏽🤌🏾 Our Compete for a Cure booth was set up, the merch was flying off the table, and the love and support were absolutely contagious! I got to spend the morning surrounded by some pretty incredible people, doing something I'm passionate about, with my amazingly supportive husband right by my side. ❤️ A special thank you to Maggie for inviting us to be a part of this event and for all the work she does for Compete for a Cure on a regular basis. 💗 This is why I love being part of Compete for a Cure. It's so much more than a foundation. It's a community of people coming together, using fitness to make a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer. 💕 THANK YOU, CrossFit Tailwinds!
