Your chest has to stop.
ㅤ
A lot of hitters never decelerate the chest. It just keeps going. That’s when the energy leaks out before it ever reaches the barrel and the ball.
ㅤ
It usually starts lower: the hips turn too much or too far, and the chest follows them right past the ball. No stop, no transfer.
ㅤ
The chest stops to deliver the energy into the barrel and the ball. That’s what keeps your post-contact direction on the outside pitch and sends it oppo.
ㅤ
Ask yourself: where is my chest going after contact? Does it stop, or does it keep spinning?
ㅤ
Save this and send it to a hitter whose chest never stops.

You didn’t lose your confidence. You allowed yourself to stop choosing it.
ㅤ
I told a player this in a session: doubt is a decision, and so is confidence. Your swing was never the problem. Your self-talk was deciding how aggressive and competitive you were willing to be.
ㅤ
Nobody in the stands is watching your swing and thinking “that’s beautiful.” They’re watching whether you hit the ball hard.
ㅤ
Stop trying to feel perfect. Choose the thought that takes you to your zone, then get back there faster every time you leave it.
ㅤ
Save this for the next time you’re in a slump. Send it to a hitter who needs it.

I asked a group of hitters one question: you're in the box, what's your goal?
ㅤ
Get on base. Put it in play. Don't strike out.
ㅤ
Hardly anybody said hit it hard.
ㅤ
"Don't strike out" is not an intent. It's a fear with a helmet on.
ㅤ
(Day 1 of 7. Intent Week starts inside the Inner Circle.)

ALL EYEBALLS ARE NOT CREATED EQUAL. You thought it was fast but was it really? by @completegame

At the highest level, in both baseball and softball, hitting is more premeditated than it is an actual in-flight thought process. If you think you have enough time to think, calculate, and decide if you're going opo or pulling something, good luck. Intent should be cued. Intent should be coached, and intent should be your self-talk when you're in the batter's box. by @completegame
