My favorite book of the summer! Set in 1933, this story dove deeply into the lives of its characters and their small town in Mississippi, creating not only a great plot but also an immersive lesson on this period in history. I especially loved the characters of Meg and Birdie - both fiercely resilient, facing heavy challenges like poverty and sexism while maintaining so much humor and heart. The best compliment I can give this book is that at 600+ pages, it still didn’t feel long enough - and I was thinking about it long after I finished. If you love The Help or just historical fiction in general and need an epic read to close out your summer, I highly recommend 🏖️📚 Who else read this one?

This book pairs perfectly with a long, lazy summer dinner and a glass of wine 🍷🌞 I quickly fell for the cozy Parisian neighborhood and charming cast of characters - I was in no rush to leave them behind. With picturesque café’s, delicious food, bouquets of flowers, humor, a touch of romance, and plenty of gossip, it had everything I could want in a summer read. Thank you Harper Perennial for this book in exchange for an honest review!

It felt right to read this book at the beach with my sandy daughter climbing on and off me every few pages - reading about the beautiful chaos of parenthood while living it in real time 🏝️🫠 Besides motherhood, this engaging and addictive book explored so many relatable themes like friendship, marriage, and identity, and it felt profound while somehow still light and funny. If you’re looking for a thoughtful, character-driven read with plenty of heart, I’d definitely recommend adding this one to your list 💛 I honestly think I liked it better than Pineapple Street! Who else read it and loved it? by @completely__booked

There’s something especially fitting about reading a Regency-era rom-com while wandering the streets of London 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿☕️ After a run of heavier reads, this was exactly the lighthearted escape I needed for vacation. Think Bridgerton but with a modern twist - full of witty banter, beautiful backdrops, and charming romance. I love how stories from this time in history provide such an escape — the ballrooms, country estates, and slower rhythms paint a world that’s easy to disappear into ☀️ What’s your favorite Regency-era novel?

Dog lovers, this one’s for you 🐾 This memoir covers all of life as a 20-something in New York City—friendships, romance, career swings, self-discovery—but Isabel’s foster dogs are really at the heart of it.

I rescued my dog in my 20s, and so many of these pages felt like they’d been pulled straight from my own life. Isabel’s storytelling perfectly captures what it’s like to have a dog by your side as you figure out adulthood—the ups and downs, cramped apartments, lazy Sundays, wine nights on the couch, late night walks, tears, laughter, and so much love. I can’t recommend enough - has anyone else read (and cried)? 💛

I only post books I love, and when I finished this one, I wasn’t sure how I felt…did I love it? After sitting with it for a few days, the answer became a definite yes. Books are often marketed as “compulsively readable” but it wasn’t until Yesteryear that I fully understood that sentiment - I could not put it down.
It was fascinating, unsettling, so culturally relevant, laugh-out-loud funny at times, and incredibly sharp in its social commentary. If you enjoyed The Handmaid’s Tale or 1984, you’ll definitely love the themes of social conditioning and gender roles. Have you read this wildly popular book yet? And if so, what did you think?

A rainy long weekend by the water was the perfect place to fall in love with this Pacific Northwest-set story 🌊🐙 It’s no surprise this book is wildly popular — the characters are so unique and lovable, and the story balances grief and loneliness with hope against a beautiful aquatic backdrop. It was exactly the warm hug I needed and I can’t wait to end the weekend by watching the movie this evening 🥰 Who was everyone’s favorite character? I’m torn between Marcellus and Ethan 💙

The time to escape to warmer weather is upon us and this book simply could not be a more perfect vacation read! Charming small town ✅ Murder mystery ✅ Quirky protagonist ✅ Humor and romance ✅ Feisty elderly sex workers ✅ This story was so unique but also somehow familiar and cozy, and I fell in love with the characters from Chapter 1. Something about 2026 has had me on a thrillers binge 🙃 I absolutely devoured this book. It felt like a crossover of two things I love - Bravo and Survivor - with the shifting alliances, drama, and big personalities. I thought the twist that I was expecting was going so predictable until things took a turn and I realized that I was entirely wrong #humbled. Ruth Ware is the queen of thrillers for good reason - this may be my favorite of hers yet! by @completely__booked

I was craving an addictive and fast read and this book absolutely scratched that itch. The isolated, snowy setting was perfect for a winter thriller - between that and a plot centered on rich people with dark secrets, I could practically see Netflix circling 😂 Highly recommend if you’re in the mood for a wintery story that’s chilling, atmospheric, and super easy to binge. by @completely__booked
