SCCA runoffs was a roller coaster! We started the week with motor problems after the fan belt came off and my motor over heated. Thanks to @noahk3y and Jeff for the hard work they put in to switched motors all day Monday!
Tuesday we were able to find a lot of time after being very off pace Monday. Thanks to @franklinfutrelle for the coaching and helped me shave off a lot of time. A easy Wednesday and Thursday for the final practice and first qualifying day. We put in a lap around wet Road America and put me behind Tim and TJ preble to work with in Q3. In Q3 we put in a lap for P31 not anything to brag about but after penalties and meetings and an unfair penalty I’m starting 36th. absolutely fired up and heated after my unfair penalty I was ready to go! 36th to 24th in 5 green laps!

Thanks to Dad, @matthewmelvin0 @kkloepfer2021 @bg.mvt @franklinfutrelle @comprentracing and everyone else for everything this week! by @comprentracing

🏆 Big news from the Comprent Motor Sports team! 🏁

We’re incredibly proud to share that @matthewmelvin0 has been named 2025 Mechanic of the Year by the @sccaofficial

This honor recognizes Matthew’s dedication, technical excellence, and relentless commitment to the sport. Over the years, he has crewed for five National Championships in SRF3 and played a key role in Franklin Futrelle’s FE2 National Championship at the 2025 Runoffs an incredible resume built on hard work, long hours, and passion.

Matthew is quick to credit the SCCA, CRB, tech inspectors, his family/friends and the customers who have become friends and family along the way. That spirit of teamwork and community is exactly what this award represents.

Congratulations, Matthew! We couldn’t be prouder to have you representing Comprent Motor Sports at the highest level. 👏🏁 by @comprentracing
