Welcome to Conard & Co - I am Whitney, unexpected shop owner, fellow antique lover, and recovering expat.

I started selling antiques and vintage on a whim over 4 years ago. Since then I’ve opened an Etsy shop, my website, and an antique booth here in the Kansas City area.

And recently, I’ve started traveling to England for sourcing & inspiration trips.

At Conard & Co, we honor the past by curating timeless American and British antiques that bring history, craftsmanship and character into modern homes. We are guided by our pillars of respect, excellence and delight.

It’s more than just a business - it’s where history is celebrated and every find brings joy.

Summer update - weekly website drops are paused for a few weeks and will be back in mid August.

I have so many projects going on behind the scenes to share with you all - podcasts, artwork, booth updates, and more in the coming weeks.

I just need a little breathing room to work on it AND enjoy the final stretch of summer break with my family.

Save this reframe for the next time you are kicking yourself for buying antique you later realize is broken/a reproduction/overpriced/not what you expected…

Because trust me, it happens to all of us.

You might be mad you “wasted” your money on the wrong thing.

But, as @vintagehavenshoppe told me in a recent Shop Talk podcast episode - it’s never wasted if you’re learning from it.

That’s one reason I love the antique & vintage world. Every piece I find is an opportunity to learn something.

And sometimes that learning comes through mistakes. There is a cost to the learning - and it’s up to me whether I waste that opportunity - or take advantage of it and add to my knowledge bank.

Maybe the lesson is to triple check for damage, or signs of reproduction, or looking for the right maker’s mark.

We are always learning, always growing.

Did you know this? 🤯 This polishing trick is so easy, but somehow one that most vintage lovers don’t know about.

I also swear by my Peek Polish, that I use on silver, copper and brass - it can even take utensil marks off enamel and Pyrex!
