ICE AND EMBER.

A spa built on one argument: hot and cold are not treatments, they are materials.

Every room commits to a temperature. The ember rooms run dark and low, basalt, black stone, cedar, firelight. The ice rooms run pale and bright, white marble, glacial water, cold air. Only two materials are allowed to cross between the two worlds: cedar and aged brass.

You arrive between a ribbon of fire and a basin of ice water. The locker suites are full thermal circuits of their own, steam, sauna, plunge, ice room, cryotherapy, salt. The couples hall holds four temperatures of water in one room, under a floor of Panda Calcutta marble. And because the spa sits on the second floor, it ends the way it should: outside, on a deck, with an infinity edge poured into the view.

AURELIA.

The lobby no longer introduces the hotel. The bar does.

A twenty-foot sapphire bar, a twelve-foot back bar in light wood and mirror, gold through everything, and behind the sapphire door, a private VIP lounge in peony pink and sapphire velvet.

Courtside. The sports bar for the luxury-driven sports fan.

A 180 degree 8K screen takes the whole north wall and immerses you in the action. The room steps down toward it in tiers, split by a single lit staircase, so every seat is a front row. Down front, The Pit: half moon booths, the premium seat in the house. The club level runs four tops only. Twenty feet above the bar, a cigar and whiskey library pours rare whiskeys beside its own humidor.

Fine cigars, rare whiskeys, elevated food. Hunter green, matte black, brass. The screen lights the room, and everything else is a table lamp.

You pick your experience at Courtside.

JAMILA.

A riad courtyard built for dinner service. Terracotta walls rise two stories to a deep blue ceiling painted with gold spirals, and the same spirals return in the arch panels at eye level and in the blue zellige of the fountain at the center of the floor. One pattern, three encounters.

Around the fountain: candlelit tables, a gallery level for looking down on all of it, and a clear ring of floor kept open for the dancer. Behind it, an open kitchen under a copper hood with tagines lined down the pass. Up front, a hookah lounge of low red sofas and hammered brass, built for staying late.

Pierced brass lanterns by the dozen. Pattern, water, fire, and light, composed like a courtyard in Marrakech and run like a dining room.

La Mia Bella Firenze: my beautiful Florence. A grotto trattoria built around one idea: you descend the stairs and leave the street behind completely.

The room does the transporting. Vaulted brick, candlelight, burgundy cloths, Chianti bottles gone waxy, and a stone sauté station where the cooks work in the open, the way it should be. Heavy brocade drapes pulled back in the alcoves keep the room soft enough to actually talk in.

The brief was simple: warm, welcoming, unpretentious. Simple food, the best ingredients, the time of your life. Every ingredient imported from Italy, an Italian-curated wine list, and a cocktail program built for long nights.

Designing a room right now? DM me "CONCEPT." Tell me the cuisine, I'll tell you the first three moves I'd make.

SIRENA lives below.

Past the goddess's doorway, down where the daylight can't follow, the grotto glows gold, the water runs warm, and three bronze sirens keep the room. One reclines. One rises. One watches.

This bar is invite-only. You don't stumble in. You're led down by a hand you can't see. And once you're inside, she watches over you as you get lost in secrets.

TANIT: a day club built around a goddess.

The bar sits elevated at the back of the room, so the entire space becomes an ascent. You don't walk to the bar here. You rise to it.

At the center, a bronze dancer stands with her back to the room, one hand drifted toward a dark doorway under the stairs. That's Sirena, the speakeasy below. She doesn't perform for the guests. She keeps the room's secret.

Six L-shaped banquettes work both shifts: dining tables by day, bottle service by night. The furniture is the business model.

Designing a room with two lives? DM me "TANIT."

Speak No Evil. The room behind See No Evil, and the loudest quiet room in the building.

Out front, the supper club runs dark green, gold and black with one strict rule for color. Back here the rule flips: the color lives in the furniture. Red booths, purple pillows, and a checkerboard floor that does not apologize to anyone.

The bar sits at the very back, up one step, with no stools. Drinks are built to travel. You carry yours back to your seat, because the room is the destination, not the bar rail.

Above the bar hangs one huge mirror, tilted at 45 degrees toward the door. Walk in and you meet yourself arriving, with the whole room behind you.

Tall curtains in a navy and gold feather print hang beside the DJ booth, drawn open like a stage. The booth itself is plain black, round and modest, and the DJ stays implied. You hear him long before you see him.

At the center, a square of couches with every back turned to a bronze woman, hands over her mouth, rubies for eyes. She keeps the room's one rule so nobody else has to say it out loud.

The program is Japanese: whisky, highballs, ice cut to order. The light is only table lamps and four sconces.

Designing a room with a secret behind it? DM me "CONCEPT". Tell me the cuisine, I'll tell you the first three moves I'd make.

Thorns & Whispers.

Some rooms don't want to be found. This one hides behind a false wall and a black curtain. Past it: a triangle room wrapped in black paneling, a giant red rose bleeding from the ceiling down to the carpet, green velvet booths, black candles, no back bar. The bottles sit opposite the rose in green glass — petals, if you squint.

Nothing here is decoration. The checkered glassware, the baby grand hidden in the corner, the red neon over the exit carrying the name. Every detail is a decision about how the night should feel.

I design restaurants from the first sketch. DM me CONCEPT and let's talk about yours.
