ConceptShell Art & Design Studio turns 2! 🎂🎉🐚❤️ Two years ago, I turned ConceptShell into my full-time creative business. What started as a sole proprietor side hustle in 2011, balancing freelance projects with my corporate design/tech career, has grown into something bigger and much more meaningful.🥹 These past two years have been filled with intention, surprising opportunities, incredible collaborations, creative growth, and crazy high and lows. Running a small business while raising a family has been tough! Every challenge, especially all the new tech, has taught me something new and kept me on my feet. Even though it’s been rough sometimes, it makes me so happy at the end of the day to help people while doing what I love most. Today, I do my best to stay committed to creating thoughtful, custom, human-centered designs that amplify voices, celebrate culture, and make a positive impact. I’ve had the opportunity to work with some amazing people, build lasting relationships, and give back to the communities I care about. This journey even inspired me to start @conceptshellfoundation, a nonprofit dedicated to making art, design, and creative opportunities more accessible to underserved communities. Peep our bio/websites for opportunities to join in and help others. 🤎 To every client, collaborator, and supporter who has trusted me, referred me, shared my work, or simply kept rooting for me, THANK YOU! Your support means more than you know. Again, shoutout to my family for being my biggest motivation and keeping me grounded through it all. Cheers to another year of creativity, community, and doing what I love, together. Art and Design for Good! 🥂✏️🎨 They said red & linen is good luck for 2 years. Happy 2nd Birthday, ConceptShell! 🥳 ~Shayla 🧜🏽‍♀️ #conceptshell #graphicdesigner #seattleartist #filipinoowned #designstudioanniversary by @conceptshell.studio
ConceptShell has won 6️⃣ Gold Hermes Creative Awards for 2026 ✨🏆 Coming up on the studio’s 2-year LLC anniversary this summer … it’s been great to have the opportunity to reflect, learn where I/we can improve, and understand what’s being done right as a designer and partner to others. This year’s awarded projects include: ☕️ @70andsunnycoffeeco — Mural Design & Painting 🎙️ @intentionalist_ — AMPLIFY Brand Identity 🗺️ @duwamishtribe — Cultural Place Name Map & Educational Brochures 📉 @sightlineinstitute — 2025 Gratitude Report 💻 Confidential Client — Website Redesign 🖼️ Confidential Client — Marketing Assets To every client who chooses/comes back to ConceptShell, values, and trusts me/us with your vision, thank you. 🙏🏽 Every project the studio touches is important, no matter the size. I’m incredibly grateful for the support, collaboration, and community that has helped ConceptShell grow these past two years. Wishing all of our clients continued success moving forward! 🤎 Here’s to many more meaningful projects ahead 🙌🏽 Thank you @hermescreativeawards !! by @conceptshell.studio
13 years ago, I started my graphic design business, ConceptShell, as a Sole Proprietor during the beginning of my design career. I worked full-time mainly in the corporate world with big brands while doing freelance gigs through ConceptShell for in-house agencies, nonprofits, local startups and family/friends with personal projects. With what I’ve been through in the past, and having my own family in mind since 2020, I was afraid to just do my own thing. I finally got that sign✌🏽, and took a leap of faith. ConceptShell is now officially an LLC and I’m doing me 💯 !! Business has been consistent for years now. All that hard work and dedication feels so rewarding. I’m proud of how far I’ve come. It’s amazing to join forces with new clients, and to see old clients come back, over and over again. Helping others through art and design isn’t just “work” to me. It’s play! I lose myself in the creative process during each project I touch. So if you or someone you know needs an illustrator, graphic designer, art/creative director, holler at ya girl! I gotchu 🙌🏽 Thanks to everyone for your support over the years — to those who gave me an opportunity, shared advice, taught me a lesson, helped me grow, gave me motivation and cheered me on. I am so grateful. ❤️ Much love, Shayla aka ConceptShell Art and Design Studio Check out my work at: concept-shell.com shaylahufana.com by @conceptshell.studio
Oct 30 💍 Happy 4 year anniversary, @tashawngs and @rkng87 !! This will always be one of the most special pins I’ve ever designed ❤️ Most don’t realize how much love, detailed sketches, & strategy that goes into a pin design to bring out details of a face. I love that these pins were their wedding favors. Cheers to many more anniversaries to come, you two! 🥰🥂 ✏️ Face illustrations & pin design @shayla.ad aka @conceptshell.studio 📌 Pin production & backer @hypepins_🔥 📸 Photo by @bustabadco #enamelpin #seattleartist #illustrator #hypepins #conceptshell by @conceptshell.studio

A great logo isn’t a flat image. It’s a toolbox of shapes waiting to be unlocked. 🔑 In this video, I’m separating the fork and spoon from the typography of @kamaaina.grill’s logo in @adobe Illustrator to create standalone graphic elements.🍴 Now we’ve got more fun things to play with 🤙🏽 ➡️ Custom background patterns ➡️ Flexible social media frames ➡️ Subtle watermark textures ➡️ Unique icons for layouts Reach out for logo design help at concept-shell.com 🔗 10 minutes of work in 20 seconds @shayla.ad #LogoDesign #BrandIdentity #GraphicDesign #BehindTheScenes ConceptShell by @conceptshell.studio
Did you know your logo should work in more than one color or layout? ✍🏽 While working on @ubeoverload’s new packaging, we noticed their existing logos were limited to dark-colored images that worked best on white or light backgrounds. So we helped give their logos a little extra love! 💜 We redrew their existing logos as clean, scalable vector artwork and created new color variations and layouts to improve versatility, contrast, and readability across different backgrounds. Why does this matter? Having multiple logo files that are clean + flexible enough to work across different applications without losing quality is key. Think small social media circles, packaging, posters, embroidery, t-shirts, pens, business cards, large-scale signage. Good logo design isn’t just about how it looks. It’s about how well it works! ✨ At ConceptShell Art & Design Studio, we help brands build thoughtful, versatile visual identities that are not only nice, but made to last. Need help with a new design, refining your logo, or preparing professional vector files? We’re excited to share a sneak peak of 3 newly designed single-cookie pouches (to be in print production) for @ubeoverload’s best-selling Filipino cookies 🇵🇭 the UbeOverload, Ube Crinkle, and Pandan Crinkle! 😋 Each flavored package features a delicious top-view of the cookie (true to size), custom hand-drawn ingredient icons in the bottom band of color, and its own color palette. ✏️ The hierarchy and comfortable spacing ensures that the most important information is obvious, accessible, and easy to read. 👀 These consistent design layouts and graphic elements ensure they’re seen as a family of treats! We also recreated and refined their logos so that they have scalable, high-resolution vector artwork. Now they have versatile color variations that can grow with their brand across different applications.✨ A HUGE thank you to the incredible owners, Joelyn & Wayde, for choosing and trusting us to create something special for your brand! 💜 ConceptShell Art & Design Studio Lead Designer / Art Director: Shayla Hufana Graphic Design Intern: Morgan Wong (icons) Print Production Designer: AJ © 2026 UbeOverload x ConceptShell Art & Design Studio.
