My second time in Santorini, but my first time taking my family 🇬🇷

We stayed in Oia at Sole d’Oro Luxury Suites, explored early before the streets got busy, spent time in Imerovigli, got out on the water and ate very well 😂

A few things are worth knowing. Oia gets BUSY during the day, taxis can be surprisingly hard to find and you definitely pay more for those famous caldera views.

But honestly, I still love Santorini.

Oia really is that cute, the sunsets are incredible and our sunset catamaran was one of my favorite things we did as a family.

Coming back for a second time made me realize how much easier Santorini is when you know what to book ahead, where to stay and when to avoid the biggest crowds.

So I put everything I wish I knew into this carousel.

🍂 Save this if you’re chasing fall colors this year.

This map shows how fall foliage moves across the U.S. from October through the end of November, making it a little easier to time those fall road trips, weekend getaways, and leaf-peeping adventures.

Because peak fall color can look completely different depending on where you are and when you go.

October in Utah is basically 31 days of trying to fit in one more fall plan. 🎃

Between pumpkin patches, fall colors, Halloween pop-ups, festivals, date nights and family events, this might be the busiest month of the year around Salt Lake City.

I did the research so you don’t have to. Save this carousel for later and send it to the person who’s always asking, “What should we do this weekend?”

🍂❄️ Utah right now can’t decide what season it is.

Fresh snow in the mountains + fall colors still hanging on at lower elevations = one of my favorite times of year.

Basically, go chase fall now… because ski season is clearly knocking. 😂

I turn 40 next Friday 🥂 and I have to say… I’m actually really excited about it.

Because somewhere along the way I learned:

✨ You don’t need everyone to like you.
🧘‍♀️ Protecting your peace sometimes means disappointing people.
✈️ Take the trip. You can make more money, but you can’t make more time.
❤️ Your kids need a happy mom more than a perfect one.
👯‍♀️ Friendships change. So do you. That’s okay.
💪 Your body deserves way more appreciation and way less criticism.
⏰ Being busy isn’t the same as actually living.
🌱 You’re allowed to start over at any age.
🤷‍♀️ Most people aren’t thinking about you nearly as much as you think they are.
🥂 And the older I get, the less interested I am in doing things just because I’m “supposed to.”

I definitely don’t have life figured out.

But I know myself a whole lot better than I did at 20 or 30.

And that might be the best part of getting older.

Here’s to 40 🥂

Turns out dinner and drinks weren’t what we needed 😂

We needed 30 minutes to smash things, laugh way too hard and blow off some steam together.

We tried @xcaperagesd in San Diego for date night and it was honestly SO much more fun than I expected. You pick your weapons, gear up, play your own music and basically get permission to destroy everything in the room.

Very therapeutic. And cheaper than therapy 😂🔨

10/10 recommend when life has been life-ing and you need a date that’s anything but relaxing.

I’m Dutch, and this is the Amsterdam guide I’d actually send a friend.

Not a list of 37 “must-sees.” Just the places, neighborhoods, food and experiences I think are worth fitting into your trip.

Yes, see the canals and museums. But also eat a snack straight from the FEBO wall, wander De Pijp, bike through Vondelpark, browse Albert Cuyp Market and leave enough time to experience Amsterdam without racing from attraction to attraction.

And if you have an extra day? Get OUT of Amsterdam. The Netherlands is so much more than one city.
