I’m still inspired from an unforgettable evening at the Curated Exhibition presented by The Links, Incorporated at Embassy Suites ✨Art Symposium Moderated By Fayetteville’s Own Dr . @tamaraholmesbrothers

On behalf of @blackartistforward as treasurer & artist, I had the honor of discussing our love for arts, our ancestry, our goals with two of my favorite visual artists & living legends @charlylpalmer & @nashwoodrow !!!

Had the honor of connecting with two incredible creative forces, Charly Palmer and Woodrow Nash—true visionaries whose work continues to shape culture and tell powerful stories through art.

Even more special was seeing amazing local talent Damien Mathis represented in such a dynamic space. The energy, the creativity, and the community in that room were unmatched.
Moments like this remind me why art matters—it connects, it inspires, and it elevates.

North Carolina made history celebrating North Carolina’s Only - 2nd Annual -Dilla Day 2026— a powerful and unforgettable weekend presented by @eljapoetry and honoring the incredible mother of J Dilla, Mama Jay! @madukesofficial The energy was unmatched as creative artists from spoken word, beat production, and performance arts came together in true community and culture. Every moment reflected love, legacy, and the timeless influence of Dilla’s sound and spirit. We were deeply honored to witness Mama Jay receive special recognition from our very own NC Senator (D) Val Applewhite and Fayetteville City Council Member- District 2 - @malikdavisnc for her impact and dedication to preserving her son’s legacy. @concourse107 presented her with her roses (Art Of Appreciation). The weekend was filled with love, rhythm, creativity, and gratitude that could be felt in every performance. This celebration reminded us that music and art continue to unite and inspire across generations. Thank you to everyone who showed up, showed love, and made history with us. To My 1st Art Teacher - Mr. Mathis - The story you shared Saturday with me was a nothing short of divine intervention. To know that you were always meant to be a major part of my journey.

From day one, you saw something in me — something that couldn’t be dimmed, even when others tried.

Thank you for standing up for me when I was just a kid, where some adults were counting me out… actually rooting for me to perish and fail based on where i come from. Can you imagine? People in power hoping I wouldn’t make it.

But you didn’t fold. You didn’t follow the administration’s demands. You fought for me. You spoke up. You protected the spark in me when they wanted it snuffed out. by @concourse107
