We armed @Roadtash_10 with a roll of Kodak as she took on Dorset Divide #5. Her first year riding Dorset’s demanding and beautiful terrain, with our steel Italian made Bivio Gravel bike for company over the 542km race route.

The real question: will she be back for round two next year?

Last weekend, a handful of keen bikepackers - many of them first-timers - took to the UK Surrey Hills with our friends @condorcycles and @albion.cycling for an overnight campout and introduction to bikepacking.

The sun shined as gear was tested over 55km of prime gravel trails and moments were shared that will be remembered forever.

Never underestimate the feeling of doing something for the first time, especially if it means getting outside and proving yourself against the elements.

Here's to the next one.

Second ever gravel race, might as well make it a trip to Scotland for National Champs. Any performance goals were soon lost to not quite having the legs for all the climbing, a four-dynaplug kinda puncture, a dropped camera and may as well throw some cramp in there, but Ae Forest made for some sick riding and a blast to do it on the shiny new Condor Terra Alta ✨

An almost car free haven in London.

There is one road left in London, which still has a tollgate. It is a steady 1.3km climb that Julian and Ben use in their final ascent to crown Tuesday night's climbing king.

A small white wooden hut sits in the middle of the road accompanied by a sign with toll charges that range from half a crown (2/6), to three pence (3d) for a mule or donkey not drawing a vehicle. Plus an additional charge for any beasts, hogs or sheep being taken through.

Today, the charge is £1.20 for a car and free for bicycles. While it’s only a 4% average gradient, it is almost traffic-free as there are alternative just as quick routes to avoid the fee. Towards the summit the road steepens to 8% and a cycle lane opens up. At the top is a roundabout should you feel like you’re riding back down past the perfect picket fences and lush woodland.

Final round of Rapha Summer Cross and a first ride for @theoclarkes on the Condor Terra Alta.
Not strictly a cyclocross bike, our handmade carbon frame uses the geometry from our gravel range but Theo was able to navigate legendary Bib Bob, new gravel whoops and a whole heap dizzy bends on the bumpy infield to jump onto the podium down at Herne Hill Velodrome.

Go hell for leather, and hold on.

Canonbie Road in Forest Hill is about sheer survival. Maxing out at over 20%, it’s one of the steepest paved streets in the capital—a wall of tarmac offering zero momentum and relentless resistance.

Staff members, Ben and Julian use Canonbie Road as the start of their South London climbs training route. Created as a tag on Tuesday night training loop on their way home.
They begin with laps of the Forest Hill climb cluster, tackling Canonbie from both the east* and west, before moving south to take on the secret hairpin ascent of Eliot Bank.

London is as flat as you want to make it.

Staff members Julian and Ben devised a devilish Tuesday night training route linking South London's steepest climbs. The Norwood Ridge offers a rollercoaster of short, brutal walls like the legendary 20% ramp of Canonbie Road in Forest Hill and almost traffic free Toll Road in Dulwich.

Ben's bike choice: The Leggero SL is the lightest frame in our range, constructed with hand-selected, high-modulus carbon. Ben paired it with an Ultegra Di2 groupset, Condor Aero Carbon bars, and Vittoria Corsa Pro 28mm tires (currently one of the lowest rolling resistance tyres available), mounted to a set of Reserve wheels.
