What an incredible first week at Connect Stars South Kilburn Summer Camp! 🌟 The energy has been off the charts with young people diving into fun activities, trying out new sports, and building friendships that we know will last beyond the summer. From team games to creative workshops, every day has been packed with laughter, learning, and unforgettable moments. 🌟 Taking a moment to reflect on our incredible Christmas with CS celebration. We’re still in awe because amidst what at times could only be described as chaos, we came together, stood in our community with an open door, and fed around 80 young people with good food, ensuring that everyone walked away with a small gift.

But it doesn’t end here; we were also treated to amazing performances by our young people in the community. The only thing we can say is we are super proud and still in awe of some of the performances we saw. Brent Council 📞 if you need us to showcase the talents of Brent by hosting #Brent’sGotTalent. We really did witness some incredible talents in our community.

#XmaswithCS served as a testament to the amazing community that we belong to, filled with unity and generosity.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to making XmasWithCS celebration a success.

🏆Congrates to our STAT 2026 Graduates!

❤️‍🔥 For the sixth year running, STAT is supporting 48 Year 6 pupils from six local primary schools @leopoldprimaryschool @mitchell.brooknw10 Stonebridge, Harlesden Newfield & Brentfield as they transition to secondary school.

🤝 Together, we’re helping young people build confidence, strengthen friendships and develop the skills they need to thrive in Year 7, while connecting them with trusted adults, positive peer groups and long-term support within their community.

🧡 Funded by the @londonvru through @i.ambrent and delivered in partnership with @connect_stars Stars and Brent’s Safer Neighbourhood Board.

We Promise To Remember. We Promise To Act.

A few weeks ago, our community experienced a pain that no family, young person, or community should ever have to endure. We lost one of our young people, Jamal, in a senseless act of knife violence.

Beyond the headlines and beyond what is reported in the media, there is a family grieving, young people that knew him carrying unimaginable pain, and a community left trying to process the trauma of losing someone far too soon.

At our recent youth club session, we stood alongside Jamal’s mum and family members, as our young people were given a safe space to express their feelings, share their experiences, and talk openly about the impact that knife violence and loss has had on them.

Our young people deserve better. Our communities deserve better. We cannot accept a reality where losing young lives to violence becomes normal.

Whilst we cannot change what happened or bring Jamal back, we at Connect Stars make a commitment to his family and friends that we will continue to honour his life, protect his memory, and share the story of the young man we knew.

Meet I AM Brent! 👋 We're a passionate group of organisations working together to make our community safer for young people and their families. We're part of the Mayor of London's MyEnds Programme, focusing on a public health approach to reduce violence.

Who's with us? Our amazing consortium includes: Step Up Hub, Connect Stars, PLIAS Resettlement, Sport at the Heart, United Borders, Hilltop Circle. Plus, the Safer Neighbourhood Board guides our efforts!

📍 You'll find us making a difference in five key areas across Brent: Chalkhill Estate, St Raphael’s Estate, Stonebridge Estate, Church Road Estate, and Harlesden Town Centre. We believe in working directly with our communities to create real change.

Our goal is to tackle violence by supporting young people (up to 25) and their families, building stronger communities, and providing the right help at the right time. Together, we can create a brighter future! ✨

Connect Stars enjoyed an incredible day of tennis at the Queen’s Club.

Our young people had the chance to experience world-class tennis, soak up the atmosphere, and even witness a special Red Arrows flypast overhead.

Honoured to attend the @nflfoundation @nflflag launch and hear firsthand about the incredible investment being made into the future of young people through sport.

This is more than just a game, it’s about creating opportunities, building confidence, developing leadership skills, and opening doors for the next generation.

We’re excited about what this means for Connect Stars and the young people we support. Through new opportunities to learn, play, and grow through Flag Football, our young people will have access to a sport that promotes teamwork, discipline, inclusion, and fun.
