POSTS STORIES REELS

Our recent Her Seat. Conversation was one that stays with us long after the event is finished.

A day not to perform or present. Just to be present with each other, in a room where honesty and vulnerability were welcomed.A space where the conversation goes deeper than the surface. Where women who are building something real can sit down, exhale, and speak freely.

To every woman who came and took her seat in March, thank you. For your openness. For the way you showed up, not just for yourself, but for every woman in that room.

This is what Her Seat. is for. We cannot thank you all enough, because it is every single one of you, that made the day what it was. 🤍 by @connectedbyserena

For a while now, this page has mostly been about Her Seat, and I’m so proud of the community we’ve built together. A community built on authenticity, genuine connection, and being exactly who you are.

So it only feels right that I do the same here. I’d love to start sharing more of me with you. Who I am, what made me, and the thinking behind everything I build.

So let’s start with what’s been quietly driving me in the background all along. Ambition.

Growing up with immigrant parents, ambition was never something we talked about at the dinner table. It was something I watched. Early mornings, late nights, quiet sacrifices, and the belief that if you work hard enough, you can build something from nothing.

I didn’t realise it then, but they were teaching me everything.

It’s why I went into business. It’s why Amy and I built Her Seat. And it’s why I keep building, even on the days it feels hard.

To me, ambition is wanting more without apologising for it. It’s staying kind while you build. And it’s creating something that outlasts you.

From here, this page is going to be a little more personal. The lessons, the wins, the hard parts, and the people who’ve changed everything for me along the way. I’d love for you to come on the journey with me 🌹

So tell me, what does ambition mean to you? 👇

Meet the founders series 🌸

Serena Tran is the co-visionary behind Her Seat, founded on the belief that meaningful conversations are needed now more than ever.

With over a decade of experience across the creative, retail, and property industries, she has seen firsthand how women in business can often go unheard or undervalued because of external circumstances, which is why building a community that celebrates, connects, and uplifts women has become deeply important to her.

Serena’s idea of fun includes beach walks, sports, travel, and slow mornings with a good book and a matcha latte (almond milk with a dash of honey, of course). She loves good food, movement, and being around people who keep it real, finding joy somewhere between uncontrollable laughter, depth, and calm.

Rooted in authenticity and guided by purpose, Serena continues to create spaces that remind women they don’t have to choose between ambition and ease, because success feels most meaningful when it’s shared 🤍 by @connectedbyserena

Believe it or not, some of the “rules” we grew up with just don’t hold up anymore 👀

From money and relationships to business and life, here’s my take on a few beliefs society loves to repeat. Some I’ve completely let go of. Others I’ll happily defend.

Swipe through and tell me honestly: which ones do you still believe?

AND send this to the friend who’d argue with me on every single one 😂 by @connectedbyserena

Okay, does anyone else feel like having Founder brain is a full time job on its own ? 😅

Some days my brain feels like the 20 tabs I have open. One minute I’m thinking about next week, the next I’m asking how we can better support our clients, and somewhere in between I’m googling how to clone myself.🥹

And also….Can someone please tell me how it’s already pretty much November?! 🤯

so I’m curious, what’s living rent free in your head right now? 👇 by @connectedbyserena

I used to get so anxious about making mistakes.

Double checking the door was locked.
Making sure i was 100% sure before saying anything
Then, Replaying one small slip for days.

Then one day I asked myself: even if I do make a mistake, I know I can handle it.
So why do I still see mistakes as “bad”?

I journaled hard on that one.
And with a little help from Gary Vee and Steven Bartlett, who both talk so openly about testing, trialling and failing as part of the process, I came to this:

It’s not the mistake that defines you.
It’s how you get back up from it.

Business has taught me that every mistake is really a trial. A test. Information that helps you adapt and build something better.

So here are the notes that hit true for me!
Which one hit true for you?

A fun little “This or That” to get to know the women behind Her Seat! 🤍

We might share the same vision when it comes to Her Seat, but that doesn’t mean we agree on everything!

Whose answers are we agreeing with? 😂👀 by @connectedbyserena

It’s never too late to be brave enough to fail.

I’ve started things before I felt ready, walked away from things that weren’t right, and taken leaps that didn’t always land. But every brave decision taught me something, and led me exactly where I needed to be.

It’s never too late to choose the people who choose you. The right people will push you, back you, and celebrate you, and they change everything.

It’s never too late to start building wealth. There’s no deadline on your first asset, or on deciding your future is worth investing in.

And it’s never too late to live the life you actually want.

So whatever you’ve been waiting on, this is your sign.
Just start! by @connectedbyserena

Testing, testing… 🎙️

When every store sells the same products, what makes someone choose you?

It’s the question I kept coming back to when I first stepped into the business. I knew the difference couldn’t be the product. It had to be us.

So we grew beyond our four walls. In store, online, through events, and into a community.
I stopped chasing sales and started building relationships. Telling real stories, bringing people together, and showing up with genuine values every single day.

Over time, the brands we admired most started backing what we were building, and bringing our concepts to life alongside us. Not because of the metrics, but because of the community and the values behind it.

That taught me something I carry into everything I build today, from Naviyo to Her Seat.

People back people. And wealth and success are never built alone. They’re built around the right people 🌹
