A personal anniversary. ✨

You often only realize how far you’ve come when you look back.

Three years single—and now so happy, fulfilled, and at peace that I didn’t even notice the anniversary. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who supported me throughout this healing journey. You know who you are… and there are so many of you.

I’m grateful for every gentle, kind soul who touched my life, supported me, taught me something, or simply showed up when I needed it.

And I’m even grateful for those who showed me who I don’t want to be—because they helped me become even clearer, stronger, and more unapologetically myself.

Yesterday at work, I met a donor who has been giving for an amount of time equivalent to my entire life.

And it made me pause and reflect.

What is one thing I have continuously done throughout my life?

I’ve lived in different cities.
I’ve thought, spoken, and almost dreamt in different languages.
I went from being deeply religious to, at best, spiritual.

People die.
People move.
People change.

So much of life is in motion.

And yet, some angels keep showing up.
Some keep giving.
Some keep believing in something bigger than themselves.

Yesterday, I met one of them. ❤️

The original flower lady and folkore lover in town! Feels incredible to be able to show her the most stunning views and make her meet the most wonderful people. This is what work in global health leads to - discovering new places and new people. Her visit is so special. Despite not seeing her for 7 months it feels like we never separated. Flower stand in Vancouver feels like flower stand in Warsaw...or flower market in Montreal. Home away from home. Extremely thankful for the opportunity to show her my world, while she was showing me her world for so many years. by @connectedwithaleksandra

My angel, my advisor, my favorite person is coming to town! ✨💛
Introducing Aunt Marysia — my beloved Ciocia Klocia! 🇵🇱💫

While I was growing up in Poland, she used to send me magical packages filled with gifts that opened my eyes, my mind, and my spirit to the world. 🌍🎁 Together with my dad, she helped expand my horizons even further — starting with summer trips back to Canada when I was just 9 years old. 🍁✈️

She’s also the one who drove 6 hours from Montreal to Toronto to meet me in the hospital the day I was born… and gave me my name, together with my father. 💖🚗

And to this day — when life happens (even something as random as stepping on a nail through my shoe 😅) — who do I call for advice, even at 36? Always her. ❤️
Just like my half-sister’s kids, who call her and her husband for everything big and small — she’s that person for all of us. 🫶

Our paths drifted apart for a while, but I’m so grateful we’ve found our way back to each other. Like strands of hair in a braid, we weave together, grow stronger, drift, and reconnect again — each time deeper, stronger, closer. 🌊✨

So happy you’re coming, Ciocia. I love you so much. 💕 She is incredibly wise — just like her mother was 💫 — a trusted advisor not only to me, but to so many of my girlfriends. 💕
She carries forward her mother’s legacy with grace, strength, and heart. 🌿✨

She is 86 years old. So no time to waste to celebre her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She gives me a perspective that there is absolutely no time to waste life and energy on things and people who do not matter. Life is short, let's enjoy it with people who do matter. by @connectedwithaleksandra
