This steam-powered cider mill in Mystic has been making apple cider the old-fashioned way for more than 125 years!

B.F. Clyde’s Cider Mill has been a family-run business since 1881 and is home to the oldest operating steam-powered cider mill in the country.

It’s pretty amazing to watch machinery from the 1800s still pressing apples into fresh cider today.

Have you ever been to Clyde’s?

We’ve rounded up pumpkin patches across the state that we think might just be worthy of a little Halloween magic.

And which Connecticut pumpkin patch do you think is the most sincere?

Save this guide for your autumn adventures and tag someone who still believes in a little Halloween magic.

Connecticut is a little sweeter than you might think. 🍁

The USDA estimates that our state produced 12,000 gallons of maple syrup in 2026 — up from 9,000 gallons last year and 11,000 gallons in 2024.

Would you have guessed the number was that high? Where is your favorite place to get fresh maple syrup?

A Category 3 hurricane. Forty inches of snow in Hamden. Devastating floods. Record storm tides. Even one of New England’s deadliest tornadoes.

As we weather another storm this weekend, here’s a look back at just how fierce Mother Nature has been in Connecticut.

Stay safe out there, friends. 💙

The nor’easter is not over yet.

After a day that brought more than 35,000 peak power outages, strong winds and widespread rain across Connecticut, another potentially significant stretch is ahead tonight and Sunday. The latest forecast calls for stronger winds overnight, particularly in southeastern Connecticut, along with additional heavy rain and continued coastal flooding concerns.

Please take the storm seriously tonight. Stay clear of fallen trees and wires, avoid flooded roads and use extra caution if you have to travel.

These are the numbers so far — and they may change considerably before this storm finally moves out.

Stay safe, friends. Share this with someone who may need the reminder.

This weekend’s storm is giving us a pretty good excuse to stay home and slow down.

Bake the cookies. Start the puzzle. Call the friend. Take the nap. Read the book. Listen to the rain.

Stay safe, stay cozy and save this list for when you start wondering what to do with yourself.

What would you add?
