Dear mom,
When people say that they met the strongest person on this planet, they’re either talking to you or are incorrect. I have never seen someone battle as hard as you did with all the breaks you couldn’t catch. But mom you never complained once, you’d rather just talk to me about baseball or about a living room rug that I don’t have for my apartment. Mom I feel like I’m stuck in a fever dream waiting for you to come home but sadly I know the outcome. Thank you for doing everything in my whole life. The endless pregame letters, the mid game snacks, post game phone calls the list goes on. Mom thank you for inspiring me and everyone else that you have blessed with your presence. Mom thank you for being the best mom I’ve ever seen. Mom thank you for being you. I promise I won’t let you down and everything from here on out is for you. I will make you proud. Thank you college baseball.

Without you I wouldn’t be the man I am today. Wouldn’t have the relationships that I built for forever. Wouldn’t have found out the true meaning of sacrifice. Wouldn’t have known what it meant to be resilient. I wouldn’t know what failure means and how to overcome it. I wouldn’t know how to ride the steady wave.
