2 years of loving you. ❤️ You rescued parts of my heart I didn’t know needed saving and taught me a kind of love I never knew existed.

I wish I could freeze time, just for a little while longer. I never want to forget your little toes running through the grass. The way your hair smells after your bath. The gap between your two front teeth. Your belly laugh that brings me butterflies. Our nose kisses. The way you throw your arms around my legs when I walk through the door. Or the way you curl your head into my neck when you hug me. Hearing you softly sing yourself to sleep at night on the monitor. UGH am I trying to make myself cry?

These are the ordinary moments that I already know will become the memories I miss the most. I know there is a last time for all of these. I know there is beauty in that, to see you build a life and dreams of your own.
But I hope, no matter how big you grow, you always know that you have always been, and will always be, the very best part of our life.

Thank you for making me your mommy. Thank you for bringing so much light to our family. And thank you to the village that has loved you so intentionally these first two years. What a gift it is to watch you grow surrounded by so much love.

26 years ago today, the world was gifted the most kind hearted, bubbly, beautiful woman. You never cease to amaze me in the way you treat others and the way you wear your heart on your sleeve. Lyla is so lucky to have a mother as patient, gentle, and loving as you. On top of it all, you are so talented and dedicated in your craft. Hoping this 26th year is your best yet as we will “officially” become one, get to travel all over, and get to better know and love our little girl. You are the picture perfect mother, wife, and friend. I love you ❤️
