Late to post but at least it’s Edwin’s bday today.

What an experience working on this record. Written in the most random of places from my grandmas apartment to @doubledeezy’s leaky loft.

So grateful to have been part of this journey alongside such incredible musicians, producers and most of all people. It is such a privilege to dive into the world of the artists I work with, way beyond the music.

<<Squander your gifts>> for @donovanwoods

This EP is an emotional flurry of phone voice notes, inspired first takes, and contributions by incredible musicians - all dedicated to Donovan’s late friend Abe Stoklasa.

We had written track 4 “Who Could Love You” late 2024 and Donovan mentioned a batch of songs he had sitting, all with a very strong DNA of this eastern Canadian folk energy - with the idea of using elements like box accordion, fiddle, mandolin, whistle flute…which we were both quite obsessed with at the time.

I’m a fan first, so it was an absolute treat to join this ride and make this simple and painfully earnest project.

Having @anaismitchell join us for “Losing Everything” was a dream.
