Gil Scott-Heron wrote this in 1971 about what you reach for when the world gets too much… Some days the only thing that works is Lady Day and John Coltrane.
Brian Jackson’s ‘26 version, with Rahsaan Patterson’s voice and Masters At Work production, helps too. Hope you’re having a troubleless Monday ✨

On the B side of Why Don’t You Believe Me? By @declanmcdermottmusic lives this crunchy, soulful and vibey remix by @djmilojohnson
In love with it and the original since I heard it for the for the first time 💗released by @delusionsofgrandeurrecords earlier this year.
Shout out to @___sean_e___ for being one of those people that loves a record so much they buy it twice! This one now lives with me 🤭

Ten years we waited for Jill Scott to come back. She did so, earlier this year, with To Whom This May Concern. A work released on her own label, Blues Babe Records, unmistakeably Jill. 🫶
This track “Sincerely Do” closes the album, and it lands just right… soft, grown and with clarity 💕✨🎶

September Bday month post! ♍️
This time last year I made myself some promises... to do more things that bring me joy ✨
A big one being to get closer to my love of music… so I set out to build the music home setup, start a radio show, continue to dance loads and get out to see as much music as possible and… play a set at one of my favorite spots in the world… A year on... the boxes have been ticked!
and The Love Story continues…
Thanks for coming along on the journey 🤗 Here’s to Joy! Music! Love! and to never stop dancing!!! 💕💃🎶🪩🪇
Grateful to everyone that has supported this joy venture so far… friends, family, show guests, partners at the decks, listeners & dancers 🙌🙌😘🫵 Gracias!

Part of the debut album of Cecil and Linda Womack, this was the first thing they made together as a couple. A proper love story.. A Larry Levan classic, a tune!… still played in groove infused sets.
