POSTS STORIES REELS

2.5 months ago, I bet on myself and began building @chainofthoughtai full time.

It's been a hectic year: two companies I helped build were acquired. Galileo by Cisco in April, Modular by Qualcomm in July. I'm proud of both and rooting for both teams. My time at Modular ended shortly after the Qualcomm acquisition was announced; I took a couple of weeks to recharge and think.

And I realized I was already building the thing I wanted to see in the world. For nearly two years, I've been hosting the Chain of Thought Podcast: ~80 interviews with the best AI builders and leaders, from Slack's CPO to the co-founders of Poolside to Logan Kilpatrick at Google DeepMind.

Now, Chain of Thought is becoming a full-fledged agentic media company. I'll tell the stories of the people and companies driving AI transformation, and I'll tell my own: what it takes to run a 1 person company as a solo founder working with AI agents.

What you can expect:
🎙️ 1-2 podcast episodes each week, and more recordings in person
✍️ Essays on how AI gets built and deployed
📚 Explainers to help anybody go from AI curious to expert
🛠️ Open-source tools I build and use every day
💸 Selective investing in technical founders building the infrastructure for the AI era

It's time to build an agent-first media company in public. Follow along! Newsletter link in bio 🤝

Thanksgiving is tomorrow. And if your family is anything like mine, someone's going to bring up AI.

"Don't you know how bad that is for the environment?"

I've gotten that look at parties when I told them I work in AI. You probably have too.

So we recorded a new Chain of Thought Podcast episode to arm you with the facts.

Andrew Masley has spent the past year fact-checking AI environmental claims. He found mostly myths and mistakes:

- A bestselling book's central water claim was off by 4,500x
- One ChatGPT prompt ≈ 1/150,000th of your daily emissions
- Most "AI water usage" stats confuse withdrawal with consumption
- The guilt you feel? Largely manufactured by bad math.

This isn't a defense of AI at all costs, it's a call for accurate debate so environmentalists can focus on what actually matters.

Perfect pre-Thanksgiving listening. Find it wherever you get your podcasts - and at the link in my bio 🫡 by @conorbronsdon

5 years together and 3 years married 🥰

Thank you @coupleaplants for lighting up my life and for going on so many fun adventures, it's been the best 5 years of my life in so many ways.

I can't wait to grow more together in the years ahead, go on more silly adventures, harass our cats, learn, overcome, dance, and maybe go viral in a bean bag again.

I love you. Happy anniversary 🥹 by @conorbronsdon

The most important AI advancement isn't in model size, it's in how naturally we can communicate with them.

@realsharonzhou VP of AI at @amd highlighted a shift most people miss: prompting has gone from rigid programming to casual conversation.

Early GPT-3 required perfect formatting. Misspellings broke everything. You had to think like a computer.

Now? A question mark works as a prompt. Natural language flows both ways. We're moving toward AI that understands intent, not just syntax.

When the interface becomes as natural as talking to a colleague, the barriers to AI adoption disappear.

More importantly, it enables real-time course correction. Instead of precise programming, we can guide AI through conversation.

The future isn't just smarter models, it's models that speak human.

Most tech companies say they want innovation partners. Their actions tell a different story.

They build moats, create dependencies, and design systems where all innovation has to flow through them first. Innovation becomes a tollbooth.

@amd is taking the opposite approach with their AI stack. As their VP of AI Anush Elangovan put it: they want innovation happening at every layer, and they're not trying to stifle it just to increase their bottom line.

It's counterintuitive in an industry obsessed with platform control. But it might be the smartest long-term play.

When you remove yourself as the bottleneck, innovation can accelerate beyond what any single company could achieve alone.

Been too long since I've posted to Instagram, but those who follow me on LinkedIn may have already heard - I've started the new Chain of Thought Podcast unpacking everything happening in AI! 📺🎧

…well, truth be told, I’ve been doing it for a few months now. It's been such a joy unpacking the AI movement with builders from around the world, and we've gotten some truly incredible guests from Google DeepMind, IBM, NVIDIA, Databricks, MongoDB, DevRev, Cohere, poolside, and many more. Despite the doom predictions you might see, I think there's a ton of reason for optimism - if we approach this technological shift in a responsible way.

We recently dropped one of our biggest episodes with @amd after they flew us down to film at their Advancing AI conference in San Jose, and I couldn't be more excited for everything else we have in store for the second half of the year.
