On my watercolor I show the almost perfectly pyramid shaped southside of this imposing peak as seen from above Zermatt, Canton of Wallis/Valais, Switzerland. Piz Cengalo with Sciora-Group, Bergell/Bregalia, Canton of Graubünden, Switzerland.

Sciora is a very special mountainrange in Bregalia, Switzerland. The range looks so much different from our mountains e.g. in the Cantons of Valais and/or Berne or the mountains in Central- or Eastern Switzerland or even in Engadina. If you are interested to see it personally go to St. Moritz drive from there along the lake (Silsersee) then over the Malojapass road down the Bergell valley. I also recommend to visit the beautiful and unique village Soglio. From there the view of the Scioragroup and the Piz Badile is just great!

Jungfrau (4158m)
Watercolour 38x48 cm painted by Conrad Seewer ©️Conrad Seewer. The Jungfrau is one of my favorite mountains. Over the years I painted it many times from different locations. Here you see it as seen from Männlichen-Grindelwald in the Bernese Oberland with a ridge in the foreground named „Tschuggen“. When in Grindelwald you can reach the Männlichen peak-restaurant by cablecar. Up there you can admire the famous Swiss alpine triumvirate „Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau“. A unique view. Very impressive! A must see!!!!! Don’t miss it when you’re around here. by @conrad.seewer

I play a little blues guitar and I love to get inspired by blues guitarists.About 10 years ago or so I painted blues artists mainly with black ink. My wife Edith Seewer-Jakob was for 6 years (1983-1988) responsible for the press office at the Montreux Jazz Festival. The Montreux Jazz Festival supplied the national and international media from all over the world with press releases and informations before and during the Festival. It’s not only nostalgia, but - for me even more important - you are rewarded by a fantastic and changing Mountain View all along the boat trip. The mountains in Central Switzerland or not as high as those in the Cantons of Berne, Graubünden and Valais. They are different and also very impressive. I grew up in the Saanenland which lies in the southwestern part of the Canton of Berne here in Switzerland. I spent my youth up there and I always Ioved the beautiful mountains which mark the borders between the three Swiss cantons Berne, Valais and Vaud. The Saanenland became internationally well known for its famous resort-village Gstaad. The region offers beautiful ski slopes in Winter and also in spring (up to 3000 m) and fantastic hiking treks in summer. Over the years I made several watercolor paintings of the region which I combined here in a short film. Note: in the Saanenland people speak a Swissgerman dialect whereas on others side in the South and in the West and also in the northwest people speak French. That’s Switzerland a small country in the middle of Europe with 4 official languages and consequently with 4 different cultures and this in one united nation! #saanenland#gsteig #lauenensee #lauenen #gstaad_official by @conrad.seewer

I had a satinated watercolour-paper which I didn’t use as I actually don’t like to work with this type of paper. Anyhow, I then made above painting, but I had to intensify the colours many times when dry in order to get approximately the result wanted. Niesen (2362 m) Lake Thun.

The Niesen is an almost perfectly pyramid-shaped mountain in the Bernese Oberland here in Switzerland. From up there you have a unique almost complete view of the Bernese alps with Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau and many, many more….. Just fantastic! You can reach the top by buying a ticket for a steep ride with the old funicular (very special) or attempt to go up there on foot — but beware - there are 11631 steps!!! The Matterhorn is known almost all over the world. Here I post a small drawing I made on a sketchbookpaper (21x38cm) on a paper I don’t like at all. In order to get a somehow satisfying result, I had to make many overpaints. Letting it dry, painting over it, letting it dry, painting over it. When it comes to mountain painting the Jungfrau is one of my favorite subjects. Over the years I painted this mountain many, many times. It is one of the many mountain icons we have here in Switzerland. The Jungfrau is part of the mountain triumvirate “Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau“ in the Bernese Oberland near Grindelwald/Wengen. Mont Blanc 4809m. Watercolor 20x29 cm from my sketchbook. Painted by Conrad Seewer ©️Conrad Seewer. The Mont Blanc is the highest mountain of the European Alps. But even in the Mont Blanc - massif climate change is taking its toll as the permafrost line gets higher up as everywhere in the Alps. Permafrost describes the ground the remains frozen all year round and consequently holds the rocks and mountains together. No mountains today!!

The lake is somehow engraved in my memory and the painting is a free interpretation of it. I love to do that once in a while, but my main themes are of course the Swiss mountains which I regularly love to paint.
