Throwback to 2022 ✨

When @consciousforms rolled up in a mobile man-and-van workshop and brought the magic of concrete casting to @ba.pfd 1st year students, outdoors, hands-on, and full of creativity.

The brief was simple: master the basics. What the students delivered was anything but. They threw themselves into this project wholeheartedly and produced a stunning collection of concrete furniture pieces that speak for themselves.

The best part? You can still find them aging *brutifully* in the courtyard at UAL Chelsea College of Arts, right next door to @tate Britain. Raw, enduring, and beautifully imperfect. Cast in-situ polished concrete was the only option for this cantilevered triangular island with a structural upright pole situated in an awkward spot. No unsightly seam line to see here!! #concretedesign #castinsitu #concretetable #polishedconcrete #cantileveredconcrete. taken in Stroud Green Rd, Haringey by @consciousforms

Decided to grant myself a self‑care day and wandered over to the London Aquatics Centre, quietly appreciating how fortunate I am to have such a space as my local pool. Then, in one of those rare moments when the everyday folds into the extraordinary, I found myself witnessing the arrival of a monumental work by one of my favourite artists, the incomparable Thomas J Price.

Price was on site overseeing the installation of A Place Beyond outside the newly inaugurated V&A East. Fresh from its shipping crate, the sculpture hovered mid‑air, suspended by a crane, descending with a kind of solemn grace. Passers‑by and local residents gathered spontaneously, offering applause as if welcoming not just a new artwork, but a new presence in the neighbourhood.

It’s a remarkable piece: a celebration of everyday individuals rendered with a quiet dignity that challenges and enriches the cultural landscape of East London’s emerging arts district. To witness its installation felt like a privilege, a reminder of how art can anchor itself in the rhythms of a community.
Safe to say, my walk to the pool will never be quite the same. taken in Hackney Wick by @consciousforms

Terracotta coloured polished concrete worktop from last season. Nice colour to wake up to on a cold morning like this. Hand cut drainage grooves and curved splash back that’s mitred around boiler pipe projection and a cut out for Belfast sink. . #concretedesign #red #concreteinteriors #concretekitchen #architects #landscapedesi̇gn #brutalist #commission #concrete taken in Clapton, Hackney, London , UK by @consciousforms

Reflecting on our collaboration with UAL MA Designer Maker student Yuning Huang on the Organ Donation Memorial 2025. This poignant memorial, crafted from pigmented Ultra High Performance Concrete (UHPC) with polished stainless steel text, features ten vibrant concrete forms arranged in a circular formation. Each of the nine benches is engraved with an uplifting word, symbolising the nine lives transformed by one donor, while the entrance slab connects the benches to complete the life cycle. A testament to the power of public art, this contemplative space invites quiet reflection. Huge thanks to @polcrete_concrete_supplies & @shedno.15 for their invaluable support. #PublicArt #UHPC #ConcreteDesign #MemorialDesign #ContemplationSpace #ColouredConcrete #FurnitureDesign #OrganDonation #DesignForHealing @silostudio @6uiunh @unioftheartslondon @kingscollegehospital @nhsengland @nhsenglandldn #UAL #NHS #PRUH #organdonationtrust. taken in PRUH Hospital by @consciousforms
