Today is Penny's last day.

I guess at the end, you start to think about the beginning. When I met her, she was (and still is) Tyler's number one. It took time for us to see eye to eye; she being a rescue dog raised by college boys and me being the disciplinarian who was stealing her man!
I won her over with my charm and care and patience and she won me over with her softness, gentle demeanor, and do no harm/take no shit attitude.
She only ever bit me once. She was asleep and I raspberried her stomach and she woke up fighting and bit my face. I deserved it and she felt bad about it, giving me lots of her stinky breath kisses.
Whoever abandoned her in that field in Arizona really missed out on an excellent dog. Not only is she sweet and spirited, she loves kisses, is proficient at barking at everything, and she's an Olympic gold medalist in cuddling.
We made this tough decision a month ago after witnessing her decline for awhile and before she was too far gone, we decided to make the final days of her 16/17 years on earth, the best. She's been able to skip the vet and break her diet with elk, pork belly, beef jerky, cheese, hot dogs, and treats every time she goes outside, even if she doesn't go to the bathroom.
She's been our baby girl, our willful child, our spoiled princess, our pretty penny with the no toe, and our absolute favorite.
I'm going to miss her so much.

Here I am pictured drawing a picture 👨‍🎨
Wednesday in Singapore we went to the National Museum of Singapore and learned about the history of this unique city. The sun finally came out and pushed us inside the Clark Quay mall for a beer and then to the pool to cool off. We had tea service in the lounge at our hotel and I got out my colored markers. That night, my parents and Tyler and I explored a hawker cafeteria, a very Singaporean experience. Because of this city states location, it is influenced by trade most of all. It has a diverse immigrant population all of its neighbors, so the hawker had foods from all the different motherlands, all come together in one place, very much emblematic of Singapore herself. taken in The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore by @consmcchill

Here I am dressed to start my new life as a plant in the Singapore Gardens by the Bay.
We left Tokyo Monday early and it’s a seven hour flight to Singapore 😬 so there wasn’t anything to post about however, today we did the Cloud Forest and the Flower Dome and went to the Ce La Vi rooftop club at the Marina Towers, aka the finale location from Crazy Rich Asians. Cloud Forest is an incredible experience and shouldn’t be missed. Everyone should have one in their backyard. Just absolutely magical. We have an epic view from our room of the Ferris wheel and Marina Bay and just a few more days left here. Be headed home soon!

Land of the rising Sunday!

Tyler and I solo tripped to the #Ghibli park outside of Nagoya. If you’re a fan of the movies, this is a must see during a visit to #Japan. In addition to an animated short film not screened anywhere else, the warehouse gives a metric TON of photo opportunities but the majority of the features in the park are photography prohibited. These areas have an incredible attention to detail, with antiques sourced, real plants, running water, it’s as if you’re stepping into the world of the films, into the lives of the characters themselves. Drawers are filled with personal belongings, fires have been lit in furnaces, steam bursts from a the joints of a mechanical castle, it’s like being in a dollhouse. Tomorrow, as in right now, we’re headed to Singapore, see you then!
