during my last semester of college, i was burnt out and unsure what came next. i’ve always loved working with people, and inspired by my cousin, i applied to be a flight attendant. what felt like a silly dream quickly became real when i got face-to-face interviews with two major airlines. after being offered a CJO, i chose to follow in my cousin’s footsteps and work for spirit airlines. three weeks after graduating college, i started training. i was very uncertain, dealing with imposter syndrome as one of the youngest at the company. i told everyone i’d only stay 1–2 years before getting a “real job”. but that didn’t happen. this became my first big girl job and something i truly loved. i spent my first 5 months commuting between chicago and atlanta, worked reserve without ever holding a line, worked every holiday, and had endless 14+ hour duty days. and i wouldn’t change it for the world. this job made me more confident and independent, and showed me what i’m capable of. my love for this career grew after transferring from ATL to ORD. as the youngest flight attendant in a senior base, i was surrounded by people with 5–10+ years at spirit. they mentored and inspired me, and showed me what it means to truly care about this job. i had no plans of leaving until i was involuntarily furloughed last december. and as of today, i am officially laid off. spirit airlines no longer exists, and it’s hard to put into words what it feels like to lose something that meant everything to me. i will always be grateful for this job and the people who made it so meaningful: my layover buddies, my senior mamas and papas, and coworkers who stayed up talking with me on red-eyes so we wouldn’t fall asleep and made even the hardest days feel lighter. this job may have started as a leap of faith but it became something that changed my life forever. thank you so much for the past 3 years, spirit 🥹💛🖤 by @constance.jones

surprise! i’m a papa 🥹🤍

five years ago, i joined this sorority never knowing where it would take me. they weren’t joking about everlasting sisterhood because how am i still here?! now as a papa with my own kiddos, everything feels incredibly full circle.

i never thought i’d have the opportunity to experience this role, getting to know all my kiddos and watching their journey unfold has been such an incredible gift. each and every one of my kiddos is so caring, funny, and resilient. i am beyond proud of them and can't wait to see what they do in the future! i can’t wait for them to experience the growth, laughter, and love that DPhiL has given me

special shoutout to Mama GLÖW @abby.juson and Papa aìVayxià @cosbirn_12 , i couldn’t have done this without you both. thank you for always being so kind, supportive, and patient. i will miss the late nights in damen atrium (with me always facing the wall in fear of a lambda walking by and questioning why i’m on campus at 11pm 😭)

hæ! 🇮🇸

when people ask me what country i want to visit the most, i always say iceland. now i have to find a different answer because i finished my first solo trip there! (2 months ago LOL) being able to see where my favorite movie, the secret life of walter mitty, was filmed (the movie that first sparked my love and curiosity for iceland) was a dream come true

this trip has taught me the value of nature, how to be independent, and what i'm capable of. it also taught me that iceland has the best hot dogs in the world and to never take paved roads for granted (i'm looking at YOU öxi pass). so eternally happy & grateful i finally decided to come to this amazing country after 12 years of longing. truly the most beautiful place i've ever visited
