@sierraxchasity did an awesome job photo documenting this mural for @atlantabeltline and here are a few highlights.
I assembled a larger team than I’ve ever worked with for this mural, bringing in some of my fav Atlanta artists to utilize everyone’s different skills and perspectives.
All while @consuegraprojects___ made sure everything was running smooth behind the scenes.
It was a big undertaking and I’m so glad to have worked with such an amazing squad!

Over the past several months, I had the privilege of curating and producing this mural alongside Texas artist Ana Hernandez in partnership with Free & Just.

Public art has the power to hold memory in a way few things can. This mural was created to honor the women whose deaths have become emblematic of the human cost of Texas’s restrictive abortion laws through symbolism, portraiture, and stories carried by the people who loved them.

Our hope is that this wall becomes a place people return to, not just to remember these women, but to gather, grieve, learn, and continue caring for one another.

I’m incredibly grateful to the families who trusted us, to Ana for creating such a thoughtful piece, and to every partner who helped make this project possible.

As the fourth anniversary of the Dobbs decision approaches, families, advocates, and artists in Texas are creating space to remember the women whose lives were lost after abortion care became increasingly restricted in the state.

A new mural in San Antonio honors Porsha Ngumezi, Tierra Walker, Josseli Barnica, and Nevaeh Crain—four Texas women who lost their lives to the state’s abortion ban. Created by local artist Ana Hernandez and unveiled alongside family members and advocates, the mural serves as both a memorial and a call to reckon with the human consequences of abortion restrictions.

These stories are not isolated tragedies. Advocates have identified multiple cases across the South in which pregnant patients experienced delays or denials of care under abortion bans, with devastating outcomes. As lawmakers continue to pursue new restrictions nationwide, families are speaking out to ensure the people behind these headlines are not forgotten.

Today, we honor their lives, remember the families they left behind, and reflect on what is at stake when access to reproductive healthcare is taken away.

It Takes A Village
@drewborders.art & @consuegraprojects__

Thank you to Marjan Yavari, @lilianaforatlanta @beonedgewood @one.contemporary, and the National Center for Race Amity for trusting us with this vision.

This mural grew from conversations about unity, belonging, and the kind of community we hope to build together.

The interwoven hands are a reminder that every person brings something unique, and that our greatest strength comes from embracing one another with empathy, dignity, and respect. Through color, movement, and connection, It Takes A Village celebrates the beauty of our differences while imagining a future rooted in equality.

It Takes A Village
by @drewborders.art

A few 35mm moments from bringing this mural to life 🌀
Created for BE on Edgewood, “It Takes A Village” was inspired by themes of unity, freedom from prejudice, and equality. The interwoven hands represent an unbreakable bond, celebrating both our individuality and the strength we find in community.

It was a privilege to work closely with Marjan Yavari to create a mural that reflects the spirit of @beonedgewood , @one.contemporary ,and the National Center for Race Amity, and the care they continue to invest in the neighborhood every day.

THANK YOU @lilianaforatlanta
The Historic District Development Corporation (HDDC) for making this happen!

In June 2025, I produced my first installation under Consuegra Projects and I had the absolute pleasure
of doing it with lead artist Jasmine Nicole Williams @jn.ooomami and our lovely team of assistants. @drewborders.art @jassisbad @sierrachasity

“Forward Together” by Jasmine Nicole Williams was created in partnership with Free & Just to honor the lives of Amber Nicole Thurman and Candi Miller, two women who died after being denied essential abortion care in Georgia.

Installed in Atlanta and unveiled alongside community leaders, healthcare advocates, and family members, the work became a space for remembrance, grief, and resolve.

This mural was up for 6 months and although it has since been changed to another mural, this will live forever with Amber and Candi.

Thank you to @bookstoregallery_atl for providing a space.

Huge thanks to everyone who helped bring this wall to life:
@nina.dolgin @krissen__ @seanwinn4595
And for real, without the dream team @thomasturner_tt & @mr_alexkoenig I might still be painting.
