Using state-of-the-art technology, they survey natural gas infrastructure to help detect potential leaks and support the safety of our customers and communities. It may look unusual, but for our crews, it’s just another night of keeping Michigan safe.

A greener Red Cedar River starts with a whole lot of teamwork! Our co-workers joined @facilitiesmsu to plant the @michiganstateu Pollinator Corridor, made possible by a Foundation grant.

🌿 100 volunteers
🌳 1,200 native plants, shrubs and trees
🐝 More room for pollinators to thrive
💧 Helping reduce stormwater runoff

Would you run toward danger to help someone you don't know?
When Tareq noticed the smell of smoke, he circled back, found a house fire and immediately took action. While his co-worker called 911, Tareq rushed to get the homeowner to safety.
A neighbor believes his quick response may have saved lives and a neighboring home that night. They called him a hero, and we agree.

Tareq started his shift expecting to look for gas leaks.
Instead, he saved a life.

While working his route on our advanced methane detection team, he smelled something burning and spotted black smoke coming from a home. He immediately sprang into action, directing his co-worker to call 911 while he ran to the house. When no one answered the door, he forced his way inside and found homeowner Buck near the source of the fire. Tareq carried him to safety before emergency responders arrived.

His job is to help keep communities safe, but on that night, he went far beyond the call of duty. We're incredibly proud of Tareq for his courage and selflessness. by @consumersenergy
