How do you know when you've found the one? It's when you see that one person you need to know more about. It's the feeling you feel when you sit down with them for the first time and have the thought "hmm it's something about you that's different". It's when the person feels like they were an answer to a prayer sent by God at just the right time in your life. It's when the person inspires you to be better, do better, and become more of your best self. It's when you build a life together and it feels like pieces of a beautiful puzzle are missing when you aren't together. It's when you align on a spiritual level, able to #love (1 cor 13:4-8) and nurture a foundation strong enough to endure the weather of time. One blessing behind this quarantine is that I've been able to spend more time with my wife. She's a teacher and has been teaching her Students from home remotely. I've been working remotely , too. We'll probably never have a time like this again. #blessed by @contactbrandon

Today, I honor the life of Mr. Earl G. Graves, Sr., the founder and publisher of Black Enterprise. On yesterday, April 6th, Grave’s son, Earl “Butch” Graves Jr. confirmed his father’s passing on social media. Mr. Graves was 85 and experienced a long battle with Alzheimer’s. ⁠

One reason this strikes a chord for me is because a few weeks ago my grandfather, Arthur Murphy, transitioned. He was 95 and experienced a long battle with Alzheimer’s. There is nothing like a grandparent’s love. My heart and prayers are with Mr. Graves’ family – especially his eight grandchildren.⁠

This week i had to say goodbye to my grandfather. Its going to be hard not to see him and my grandmother together. I loved our sunday dinners, driving them to church, and being his light bulb changer when she didnt let him get on the step stool. He was always looking after her, and she after him. He was a godly, loving, and kind man. He had a great old school, gospel-like singing voice that i will never forget. There is nothing like a grandparents love. 😪 by @contactbrandon

I have had a lot of great things happen in my life. I’ve had a lot of dreams, goals, mentors, and supporters. I truly believe that God has great plans for me. Even some of the biggest desires of my heart, He has allowed to come true. Including being able to meet and learn from @Oprah Winfrey on several occasions. Today, is @Oprah’s 66th Birthday. In her honor, I thought I would share some of the lessons I’ve learned from her example. There are so many! I probably could fittingly come up with 66, but that would just be too long. So, I’ll just share a few, and save the rest for another time. 😊 ⁠

1.Success takes time and sacrifice.⁠
In these days with viral sensations, it’s easy to believe being an ‘over-night success’ is a norm. Although she is one of the most successful women in the world, now, @Oprah did not achieve this overnight. For starters, @Oprah did not even move to Chicago to start what would become The Oprah Winfrey show until she was almost 30 years old. Then, it took 25 years of 19-hour days for @Oprah to produce 4,561 episodes of The Oprah Winfrey Show. The amount of sacrifices Oprah had to make to maintain this work ethic, I’m sure, are innumerable. ⁠
