I ask all the drivers to bring one thing that they can’t imagine showing up without to a competition weekend. Then I ask them to tell me the story behind it.

What do you think the guys have with them? Or, didn’t. by @contendershow

Since 2015, I’ve had the privilege of interviewing Formula Drift’s drivers.

But honestly… somewhere along the way, they became much more than athletes I stick a microphone in front of.

I’ve shared countless conversations with them.
I’ve laughed with them, watched them celebrate.
I’ve watched them hurt.
And, being front row for the highs, the lows, the wins, the disappointments, sacrifices, and everything in between over the years, has made me see that something pretty special has happened.

They’ve let me get to know them.

Not just the drivers as the warriors we see on the track.
I’ve gotten to know the people behind the helmets — their hearts, their humor, heard their fears, watched dreams come true, met their families, and I see the incredible human beings that they are.
And I’ve always thought:

I wish everyone could see what I see.

So I created ConTENder.
Ten revealing questions.
Ten chances to go a little deeper.
Real conversations with people I genuinely care about.
Some answers made me laugh or surprised me.
Some responses have honestly stayed with me for the last few months.
But every one of them reminded me why I love this sport — because of the people.
You already know what these drivers can do behind the wheel.
Now I want you to know who they are when they step out from behind it.

This is ConTENder.
