I genuinely thought that because my son was already 7 when his little sister arrived, we wouldn’t have to worry about him feeling left out. Oh boy, was I wrong! 😭 After speaking to other parents and doing a little research, I’ve realised these feelings aren’t unusual, regardless of the age gap. And when you think about it, it makes sense. For 7 years, he had our undivided attention, and suddenly he had to share it with someone who needed so much of it. So we’ve been making a conscious effort to remind him that he’s still just as loved, seen and important. 🤍 With his birthday coming up, I thought this little countdown would be a lovely way to make him feel extra special. Nothing extravagant, just a little something for our first baby. 🥹 I’ll share some of the other things we’re trying in another post, but I’m curious - did your firstborn struggle with sharing your attention when their sibling arrived? What helped? #motherhood #mumlife #parenting #siblings #agegap by @contentbysola
