JACKIES! Today we’re at @jackiespdx trying their crissssspy fried chicken wings. I’ve been meaning to try this spot for a while now! We got the smoked buffalo wings. LFG 🙏🏻🔥

These wings had an excellent Smokey Buffalo flavor. Nice red sauce, good heat. Flavor wise they were on point!

Unfortunately they were a pretty dry on inside on like, 4 of the 6 wings. Too long of a fry maybe? The smoky flavor was really nice in the meat itself, but yea, pretty dry on most of the wings.

That said, I do hear these wings are great. Maybe an off fry! I’m going to try them again for sureee.

Plant-based Sri Lankan food at @mirisata ❤️‍🔥

I’ve been recommended this spot for flavorful and Sri Lankan bites that bring the heat 🔥 Had to invite my girl @slimmychews this time ❤️ Here’s what we ordered:

- Jaggery “beef” curry
- Kohchi Sambal (6/10 🌶️)
- Wambattu Moju (6/10 🌶️)
- Pol Roti
- Egg noodle EXTRA Spicy (7.5/10 🌶️)
- Spicy Nilsson cocktail
- The MIA cocktail

When I say everything was DIVINE💫 The heat was there for certain. Each dish was packed with flavor. Whether you’re vegan or not, I highly recommend this place !!

Testing the spice levels at @baka.umai🔥

This ramen spot has been recommended to me so many times and I finally got around to visiting their Hawthorne location. Here’s what I ordered:

🌶️ Carolina Reaper Ramen (Fermented reaper mash, topped with candied jalapeños, spicy cabbage, spicy menma, and hardboiled egg)

🌶️ Side of straight reaper sauce

🌶️ House kimchi

The ramen was undoubtedly spicy (7/10 🌶️) but honestly such a balanced, warming, yummy bowl of ramen! I appreciate that you can order extra sides of their pepper mash to customize the heat for spice lovers out there. The kimchi also get a thumbs up.

HOLMANS! Today we are the 80-year-old bootleggin’ saloon @holmanspdx1933 off 28th/Burnside trying their happy hour chicken wings 🔥👏

These things were DANG crispy. Super fantastic fry style. Crunch + saucey flavor. The soy garlic was sweet, savory and super satisfying. And talk about fresh wings - these things came out with a feather still attached 🤣

Holmans happy hour is great. Staff super friendly, and they pour a great pint of Guinness.

WINGS: 8.1/10

How ✨ Sparkling Sunday @bardianepdx with @steffaniexo 🥂 turned into an impromptu Spice Girls karaoke session with my other lil besties 😂! My first time here and absolutely ADORE this gem of a place on NW 21st Ave. It’s amazing for a first (or 17th date), Sunday with the girls, or whatever else. Loved the food, wine, and atmosphere and I’m so appreciative to how accommodating and wonderful the service was.
What we ordered:
🍾 Meg’s Pick: Fiorano Scighera ‘Bianco Col-Fondo’ Marche, Italy
🦪 Oysters ($2 on Sundays & Mondays)
🧀 Burrata w/ 🫛, walnut-jalapeno pesto, pickled 🍒, mint
🍲 Mussels w/ white wine, fennel, shallots, dill, baguette
🍸 Dirty Martinis

SHORT ROUND! Next up we are @shortroundpdx in Southeast, trying their spicy truffle chicken wings as part of Portland wing week with @portlandmercury 🥵🐔

We also have a very special guest @row3films 🔥

These wings were savory, salty, and had that mushroomy umami truffle goodness. They were super SUPER crispy, and really packed with flavor.

We had to get the Szechuan wings as well! These are some other most popular menu items. The two dry rubs side-by-side were a little similar, but the Szechuan obviously had that nice zingy spice.

Short Round has some of the best wings in town, so I definitely recommend hitting them into your wing week schedule!

REVERENDS! Today we’re at @reverendsbbq trying their Portland Wing Week special from @portlandmercury 🐔🔥 Reverends has the Drunken Clucker: a maple, bourbon, chili wing serve served on top of a jalapeño pancake. I’ve been looking forward to this all week!

And very excited to have @keithcanvas_ join me on this review today 🙏🏻

The Drunken Clucker was superrrr crispy. Lots of depth and pepper spice. Went great with the jalapeño pancake. It was soft, fluffy, mapley. An absolute must for wing week 🎉

And don’t sleep on it. Reverend’s has an insane happy hour every single day from 3 to 6. On Wednesdays they do it all day. You can get chicken wings for $7, salads, St. Louis style ribs, mac & cheese, and pickled plates… all while not breaking 25 bucks.

WINGS: 8.5/10

Happy Wing Week! 🎉 I’m celebrating @portlandmercury’s wing week at @fotmpdx with the chicken guy @jesseeatsalot 🍗

Here’s what we tried:
– The Wing Week Special: Hatch Chile Avocado Sauce on both their chicken wings and vegan chicken nuggies. The sauce was creamy with a pretty well rounded flavor (sweet, spicy, a little savory)
– El Jefe Sauce (rated a 10/10 on the heat scale 😳) on chicken wings and vegan drumsticks. I’m not exactly sure what peppers make up this fiery sauce, but I was told it’s a blend of several peppers AND capsicum extract 🔥. It def lives up to the spice rating. So good but proceed with caution⚠️

The vegan drumsticks have been a longtime favorite of mine. I’ll really eat it dipped in anything😂, but the wing week sauce was pretty tasty if you’re looking for a light and bright flavor with mild heat.

A lovely lunch at @hearthandvinepdx, one of the Pearl District’s newest restaurants ❤️‍🔥

I have so many memories spending summer nights playing acoustic music and sipping wine on the Henry Weinhard patio years ago, so I was so happy to see the revival of this beautiful, historic building.

Aesthetically, this place is classic and elegant. I especially like how the menu takes fresh, seasonal ingredients from within the Pacific NW and turns them into pretty, delicious New American plates. I’ve also heard they have a pretty killer happy hour 👀

Here’s what we tried:
- Burrata
- Salmon Crispy Rice
- Caesar Salad
- Oven Roasted Salmon
- Mushroom Tagliatelle (my fav!)
