Tesla is now letting drivers snap the charging cable and flee. ⚡️🚨

In response to a fatal shooting at an Idaho Supercharger earlier this year, Tesla has officially unlocked a life-saving feature: Emergency Drive Away (Update 2026.38.3).

🔹 The Problem: Previously, software locked vehicles completely in Park whenever a cable was plugged in—turning drivers into sitting ducks during real threats.
🔹 The Fix: The lockout is removed. You can shift out of Park and drive away instantly if danger strikes.
🔹 The Fine Print: It’s strictly for life-or-death situations (Tesla warned improper use carries penalties) and works across US Superchargers for all newer models (pre-2021 Model S/X excluded).
Would you risk ripping out a Supercharger cable to escape danger, or should hardware safety locks stay permanent? 👇
