POSTS STORIES REELS

Wow, First Post of 2021. Ain’t it crazy how fast time flies?

Each day is a new opportunity to become a better person than you were yesterday. I decided to take a break, after the New Year, to understand what my biggest focus will be for this year. In 2020, I posted a quote stating that 2020 was the year of change and discovery. We discovered more about ourselves than we have ever before, including me. This allowed me to discover more about who I am and what am I trying to accomplish. What do I mean? Well, I decided to put more emphasis on building a community for retro gaming, create a safe place to support one another, and bridging the gap as a content creator. Doing so has permitted me to recognize what I have and less about the analytics and numbers. All of you make me happy and is the reason why I work so hard.

Now that 2021 is here, my new goal add is consistency and development. As my community grows, I have the responsibility to create the best content possible for each of you. I am a big believer in the phase “Impact over Numbers” by @nnesaga and will forever push to break barriers as a black woman in retro gaming. I want to make all of you to be proud of the community we are building together as well as holding myself accountable if I ever forget the reason why I am here in the first place.

Thank you for believing in me and inspiring me to connect with you more as a content creator and as a person. Let us make this year the best we have ever seen it. Buckle up, grab some snacks, and charge your phones because 2021 will be our year. I love all of you. ❤️

This isn’t your average game store. It’s actually a toy store!!

I drove an hour south from Atlanta to visit Full Circle Toys and Games in Newnan, GA. Full circle carries video games, toys, action figures, vinyl, and other collectibles that any collector from ALL walks of life would appreciate. And they have been in business for 18 years!!!

This might be the biggest store I have visited in the state of Georgia so far.

AND I found games and consoles from my Holy Grail list! I’m still beating myself up over that Panasonic 3DO. 😭

The hunt continues 👀

I’ve heard so much about Hard Off before finally making my way there in Japan.

And well… Hard Off did not live up to the expectations I had going in and I left empty-handed.

Thank you so much @logitechg for the amazing time and for all the goodies!

I’ve been thinking about switching up my tech setup for a while now so this was perfect timing. I’m very excited about trying out my new headset and def need to cop the racing bundle very soon! 👀

Thanks again! 🫶🏽

Looks can be deceiving. That’s what I thought after spending an hour in this store.

Vidcomp in Haverhill, MA has been in business since 1997. It was once owned by a guy who loved computers, and now it’s owned by another guy who’s carrying the torch. I genuinely did not expect this store to have much gaming inventory based on my first impression walking in, but boy was I wrong.

Not only did I get some good deals, I managed to cross a few things off my list. Next time I’m in Haverhill, I’m definitely stopping by again.

Super Potato in Akihabara is one of the most legendary retro game stores in the world, and I FINALLY made it inside!

I don’t think yall understand how much I’ve wanted to visit this store for years. This place lives up to its reputation for a reason. It had games and consoles I’ve been hunting for just sitting right there on the shelves.

Did I get something? Absolutely!!
Did I get everything I wanted? Sadly no 😭
Why? Because I already had 5 suitcases and they were all full. 😭😭😭

My internal dialogue was driving me crazy because I genuinely thought I was prepared enough for this store visit, but the hunt didn’t go the way I intended BECAUSE this store has EVERYTHING.

This one hurt because I wanted to buy everything, so that’ll be my excuse to spin the block on Tokyo.

I found games from my Holy Grail list… and I couldn’t buy a single one of them.

This heavy hitter store is called @wizardsvideogames and it’s based in Gainesville, GA. Their inventory is massive and goes beyond just video games. If you are in the Atlanta area, this store is worth the drive.

This was my third store of the day, and I had already hit my budget before I even walked through the door. Which would have been fine… if the store didn’t have games that I have been hunting for years sitting right there in the case.

Sometimes the hardest part of collecting isn’t finding the game, but having the discipline to walk away. 😭

[IG took down the original audio for my video! Apologies for the inconvenience 🙏🏽]

For my first stop on Game Store Hunters, I visited @acesboston in Revere, MA which is one of Boston’s longest running video game stores.

This store has been open since 1994.

I sat down with the owner, Ace, to hear how he has kept the doors open for over 30 years and what it takes to manage a game store. His answer: Adaptability

Definitely check out Ace’s Games and More if you’re ever in Boston. It’s a ten minute drive from the Boston International Airport and a four minute drive from Revere Beach.

Oh, and of course I managed to find some games to cross off my list 👀

Damn, I didn’t realize how much my collection has grown over the years. Swipe all the way to the end to see where I started. Ya girl came a longgggg way since 2019!

And after taking a pretty long break from YouTube, I’m finally back 💖

The collection kept growing while I was away, and now I’m ready to continue the journey 🥹

Our retro game aficionado @contra_viction explores whether Capcom’s Onimusha: Way of the Sword lives up to its 20-year legacy in our latest video. Releasing on September 4th, Onimusha returns with Miyamoto Musashi at the centre of a bloody supernatural adventure through an Edo-period Kyoto overrun by the monstrous Genma. The game looks GOOD but a great-looking game doesn’t automatically mean it’s worth the price…

Watch the full video on our YouTube channel to see if you got Onimusha money 👀

You can’t fake being a nerd about this stuff.

One minute Victoria Brown / @contra_viction is talking about why genuine enthusiasm matters… the next we’re geeking out over No One Lives Forever and she’s basically putting out an APB for the second game.

And that was exactly her point.

In a world where so much content can feel calculated, people notice when the excitement is actually real.

Whether it’s meeting Ed Boon, discovering some obscure game from years ago, or finding that one title nobody else seems to talk about, authenticity connects.

People are missing real stuff.
