Pepsi Orange Streak C Brake manual release key switch. This key switch is used to manually open and close the brakes on the brake run for maintenance purposes and not normally used during operations. Apparently this ride was reprogrammed a couple years after opening by Gerstlauer which makes the ride unique. #thoosie #nerd #plc #zierer by @controlsjacob

It’s been a while but I’m back! I happened to be at MOA today when I heard some GP (general public) say a part of the ride fell off on rock bottom plunge. As I enter the queue for the ride the op said it was closed and said something fell off, they showed me and it was a proximity sensor! This specific sensor that I was holding has been mounted on the track for over 17 years! This sensor was placed a couple feet before the entrance of the block brake which is responsible along with sensor B to detect trains as they come through the brakes and count the cars. My guess on how this fell off was the trains wheel assembly tolerance was wider than normal and cause the brake fin to smash into the sensor making it come loose and fall off. You can see in the photos that it broke and sensor b was also affected. As a control geek this was cool to hold a proximity sensor in person. They closed the ride for the rest of the day as they will have to get a lift of some kind to reinstall it. #nerd #coasterenthusiast #gerstlauer #rollercoaster🎢 by @controlsjacob

This sound was caused by the operator at the Fairly Odd Coaster pushing the ride stop button which closes all 3 block brakes. The sound startled me as it sounds like a gunshot.
