ARTIST INTRODUCTION // CON:VOLUTE

With a signature sound drenched in psychedelic textures and an acidic haze, Vienna’s con:volute has carved out a unique space in deep Drum & Bass. Launching onto the scene in 2023 with debuts on Empathy Audio and Lost Recordings, his sonic identity is built on morphing, twisted synths and basslines that move over intricate percussive foundations.

His latest work for Empathy Audio, the Roadtrip Funk EP, is a testament to this unique approach. A three-track odyssey created in collaboration with Dub Ten, the record fuses precise, hard-hitting drums with con:volute’s signature synth madness. From the sinister crawl of “The Puppeteer” to the raw power of “Thugger,” his music isn’t just for listening, it’s for feeling, a sound that is both disorienting and utterly compelling.

Catch CON:VOLUTE live at @lucia.vienna on 11th of October! [TICKETLINK IN BIO]

@convolute_174 x @_dub.ten - Roadtrip Funk🚐🛣️

It’s been a week since the Roadtrip Funk EP was released into the world wide web, so we wanted to shine some light onto the Title Track!

As the name suggests, RTF was written while Tim was road trippin‘ through europe. As soon as the Idea was layed out, Dub Ten added his signature style onto it and the rest ist history.
Enjoy this rolling piece of music and make sure to put the windows down while blasting this!🗣️ taken in Austria by @convolute_174

And now let’s go back to my regular programming. This series of top three tunes of the week is going to stay and I’ll k keep producing it with English 🇬🇧in mind. Sometimes you might be distracted by my content with Czech 🇨🇿 captions and Lemme tell you i wish i could deliver it with English as well, but the topic is so specific to Czech local dnb scene that i shouldn’t bother anyway. Though i feel like i should go and make English dubbed recipe videos too. So watch this space! Anyway big ups to the @mo7recordings @empathy_audio and @junglecakes for realising this week’s heaters.
