How to make BORSCHT🍲
(Russians I’m sorry if I messed it up pls forgive me)
•
•
Ingredients:
(Portions depend on how much you want to make)
- Cabbage
- Beets
- Carrots
- Golden potatoes
- Golden onion
- Garlic
- Rib eye steak
- Beef stock(if you don’t feel like adding meat and
making your own beef stock)
- Apple cider vinegar
- Sugar
-Dill & Sour cream for garnish
•
Seasonings: Salt & Pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, parsley, dill, bay leaf
•
How to cook:
- In a large & tall pot, after bringing your water to a boil, turn to low/medium heat and add two bay leaves and your cut meat (or just boil beef stock with a third of water)
- Shred your beets, cabbage, and carrots, dice your potatoes, slice your onion, and mince your garlic
- Once the beef fat fully floats to the surface, scoop that out and take out your meat (you can put it back in later)
- Add in your potatoes & cabbage and let those boil until nearly softened
- In a pan with olive oil, add in your remaining vegetables and simmer, add in 1 1/2 tbs of apple cider vinegar and 1tbs of sugar, also add your seasonings
- Once the cabbage & potatoes are nearly softened, add in the rest of your seasoned and seared vegetables
- Back on a low/medium heat, let it simmer for about 20 minutes (or until you can tell the ingredients are well incorporated with the stock)
- Garnish with some sour cream and dill and enjoy!✨ by @cookedwithchloe
