The Charm City 🦀
Loved my visit with @lifeofellakate @adamcouture07 at their new house in Federal Hill. We enjoyed lots of good food, neighborhood walks, pickleball, exploring historical places and just good quality time together. It had been too long since we had been together. So proud of EK for her impact in her students lives. She is truly using her gifts from God to make this world a better place.

A cocktail I created and calling it the Verdant Solace 🌱🧡

The cocktail
2 ozs of vodka
1/2 oz of green chartreuse Liquer
1/2 oz of st Germain Liqueur
4 ozs of fresh squeezed grapefruit juice
1 T of mint/lemon simple syrup or just plain
Shake all ingredients in a shaker and pour into a large glass and topwith prosecco. Add dehydrated grapefruit and herbs for garnish. Cheers ☺️ taken in Fayetteville, Arkansas by @cookingfresh

A fun cocktail party in my new home with old friends and new friends. I am still figuring out how to best settle in to this community that is so familiar to me and also new. Catching King Salmon, filleting, feeding the seals and then cooking for friends.

Seared fresh caught salmon, sherry corn reduction sauce, on a bed of potato/zucchini fritter, balsamic glaze and caviar. This recipe creation is a keeper 🎣💛

Portland 🤍Fayetteville
Packed everything up, lots of good hikes, great visit with friends, pickleball, tennis, amazing food, more packing & loading 😅and now back in Fayetteville. I did it, doing it one day at a time… with the love and support from amazing friends & family. Forever grateful Portland. Not good bye…see you soon. 🤍

I am down to my last couple of days of packing up my life in Portland, and I truly do not have the words to express my gratitude for this incredible group of friends.
They stood beside me through some of my darkest days and never left my side. Their love, kindness, and unwavering support ensured that I never had to feel alone, even when things felt impossible.
Last night, they hosted a going-away dinner for me, and I was completely overwhelmed by their thoughtfulness. They commissioned my daughter, Ella Kate, to create a tote featuring all of my favorite things about Portland. It was such a meaningful and beautiful gift.
And Ella Kate—oh my gosh—your talent is absolutely out of this world. The care, creativity, and detail you put into it made it even more special.
My heart is so full. I will carry this love, these memories, and this friendship with me wherever I go.

If it wasn’t for LOVE we wouldn’t hurt this much. Today it’s 3 years without you. Our hearts still ache horribly and will forever. Honestly I don’t know how we have survived. We miss your smile, your kind heart, the way you made us feel protected, your hugs, your laugh and so so much more. Oh, John you would be so proud of our kids. They are so much like you and I know they feel your presence. Through our faith and the foundation of love you left us we will continue to move forward with your spirit beside us.

Recently a former employee of John’s reached out to me to tell me a story. He was working for John and his girlfriend that he wanted to propose to lived in another city. They were at a difficult point in their relationship on whether it was going to work or not. John really needed this employee, but encouraged him to put in a promotion to move closer to his girlfriend (who is now his wife with beautiful children). This employee remembers John’s commitment to his own family and how he emphasized the importance of love and family. He feels like he wouldn’t have the family he has today if it wasn’t for John’s guidance. It meant a lot to hear that story.

John was such an incredible husband and father and I know how lucky we were. John was truly one of kind. We love and miss you John Lewis. I love you xoxo ❤️‍🩹 taken in Fayetteville, Arkansas by @cookingfresh

Kiss of Life - it’s been two months back in Fayetteville. I am still in transition, but putting all the pieces together and feeling thankful. I miss the PNW and my village of amazing friends there of course!! I truly feel inspired, welcomed, loved and ready to be settled /snuggled back into NWA community in all the ways.
