Acts 20:32 To you who follow Jesus- Be commended in Gods word. Be built up and receive the inheritance God has for you! He wants to partner with you and enable you to encourage, love and pray for those around you! My guess- at least half the people you talk to will let them pray for you. Disagreement. Conflict. I’m thankful for this quick biblical journey through scripture on the sharp conflict between Paul and Barnabas. Read the following: Acts 15:36-41 NOTES: Neither men were necessarily wrong. Paul did not think Mark was ready (read 1 Tim 3:10 and around there). Barnabas wanted to keep encouraging Mark in his faith. (Many verses talk about encouraging one another) We have to be able to disagree, listen to each other and come out as brothers and sisters on the other side of the argument. Speaking of which side is right or wrong read Proverbs 18:17. The best part about this whole story is how the dispute ends. My firm belief is that if anyone says the #OldTestament is irrelevant or unnecessary then they are so so wrong. If we love someone then we care about what they care about. Jesus said he came not to abolish but to fulfill the Law and prophets. If we love him then we should spend a lifetime seeking to understand what he came to fulfill. How can we abolish them if he didn’t? Who are we? How can we appreciate that he was the perfect and true high priest if we don’t understand the priesthood? How can we fully appreciate his sacrifice if we don’t study the Tabernacle, the temple and the sacrificial system of the ancient Israelites? (Yes… even Leviticus) God intervened in history, established these practices, and then completed them in Christ. Same God. Starting and Completing. Let’s not neglect the work to understand the Bible as one story leading to Jesus. Let’s do the work. Each in our own capacity - not all can deep dive. But we can ask, seek and knock with an open mind. The Church needs to shed biblical illiteracy. #treeoflife #fulfillment #thelambofgod #jesus #illustration #drawinginchurch by @cookingwithjesus

The Father’s Day message today was exactly what I needed to hear. Even if our earthly father is absent, uninvolved or even unloving, our Heavenly Father is faithful, available, working in us and through us. The Sermon on the Mount came up and that stuck out to me.
