💚💚 Matcha overload!! 💚💚

Located on the third floor of The SoNo Collection, you’ll find a little spot called Momo Matcha — and trust me, you don’t want to walk past it.

They’re the only place in Fairfield County serving Japanese-style soufflé pancakes, and they’re as fluffy as they look 🥞

The pancakes are amazing, but there’s also so much more to choose from.

I had the strawberry matcha latte (yum), plus matcha ice cream in a bubble cone — so good.

I also tried the coconut + matcha soft-serve swirl, and I can’t stop thinking about that refreshing coconut flavor 🍦

What are you trying first? 🍵✨

🍴Was in Washington D.C. for a few days. Here’s a bit of what I ate and my honest reviews…

* Hotel breakfast - I got “The American” all three mornings bc why not. 🇺🇸 Potatoes were great, sourdough toast, did a bacon/sausage switch up. The way the eggs were cooked weren’t super consistent for getting it the same style all 3 days.
* Hotel room service - coming back to the room finding a charcuterie board and wine - nothing wrong with that!
* RPM Italian - since this spot seemed a bit more upscale I was expecting this to be better, but have to say was a bit disappointed. The expectation was high. I did order it takeout, too, so I know that makes a slight difference than if I were to have the meal piping hot in the restaurant. It was just lacking a bit in flavor, so that is why my rating for this is just OK. I prefer my homemade penne vodka 😉.
* Grazie Grazie - this was a small spot, but it exceeded my expectations. I really liked the Chopped Italian sandwich. The fam enjoyed as well, and indicated the pizza was good too!
* Lumier’s - we tried something called a chimney cake which is almost like a donut cake thing with ice cream. We got the Kinder Special which had vanilla soft serve, chocolate drizzle, and @kinderbueno_official chocolate bars. I really enjoyed the soft serve and the “donut” part was good too!
* Ben & Jerry’s - choc chip cookie dough ice cream was perfect for a hot weekend, but $9 for the smallest cup without addtl toppings is a bit much. Also, I got two scoops. Would have preferred one scoop since I wanted the smallest size, and at a lesser price. If I wanted two scoops, I’d just get a bigger size 😜.
* Bartaco - just took pics of the restaurant and not the food itself, but I got the Chicken + Black Bean rice bowl and it was pretty good!

* Shake Shack - good and consistent with other times I’ve had it in CT. I had the shack burger (my fave) and a side of fries
* I didn’t have any, but my crew certainly enjoyed it so wanted to give @redbull a shoutout since they were so active in the past weekend’s festivities. We saw tandem bike racing! taken in The Wharf DC by @cookingwithvas

Stopped by Bella Baci Espresso Bar on their opening day 🍓☕️
Located inside Three Girls Eatery right on the Boston Post Road in Guilford.

The owner shared that she wants it to feel like home—and honestly, I felt that right away. From the warm welcome to being greeted w/ saucy pizza rolls and my strawberry matcha latte, everything hit 🤍 I was offered an option of either almond or oat milk. There’s coffee and other drink options, too. And while you’re there, why not pick up something to eat? There’s tons of vegan, organic menu items to choose from. Or get some dessert. 🍰

Definitely worth checking out! taken in Guilford, Connecticut by @cookingwithvas

‼️ NEW SPOT ALERT ☕️ @ciaoangieofficial 📍 Guilford, CT

The pistachio latte was amazing 💚 and the roasted potatoes were just as good — both were standouts for me.
Also tried the whipped ricotta, tomato, and basil cornetto. First time at Ciao Angie and I’d definitely go back. Super friendly staff, as well☺️

Enjoy their outdoor patio on a gorgeous day! ☀️ Let me know what you try. I’m totally going back for the tiramisu and crème brûlée lattes. taken in Guilford Green, CT by @cookingwithvas

Beautiful days call for delicious gyros! 🇬🇷

Or how about the Loukaniko on pita, which is a Greek sausage.

This is my take on a cheesy Alfredo — somewhere between a classic Alfredo and Mac & Cheese 🤍🧀
Creamy, cozy, and comes together so quickly.

Start by melting butter in a pot, then add flour to create a roux (I used about 2 tablespoons of each). Let that cook for a minute, then lower the heat and add about a tablespoon of cream cheese. Stir it together gently so it doesn’t burn — I like to add a splash of milk at this point to help everything melt smoothly.

From there, keep adding milk gradually while stirring until you reach your desired creaminess. I measure with my heart, but I’d estimate at least 1-2 cups in total, added slowly. Keep stirring until the sauce thickens nicely. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

Once the sauce is thick and creamy, add shredded mozzarella and shredded cheddar. I don’t add a ton of cheese here — just enough for that cheesy comfort without turning it into full-on mac & cheese. That balance is what keeps it right in between Alfredo and mac.

I’ve made this before when I didn’t have heavy cream for a traditional Alfredo, and honestly, I’ve grown to really love this version. Separately, I love a good Alfredo and a classic mac & cheese, but this hybrid is quickly becoming a favorite.

I boiled some broccoli in the same pot beforehand until just tender (not too soft), then added it straight into the sauce and tossed everything together with the pasta. Top with a bit of pecorino Romano…Easy, comforting, and perfect for a weeknight 🍝✨ taken in Connecticut by @cookingwithvas

🦪 🌼 Great turnout at the Stony Creek Farmers Market last Sunday. The sun was shining and it was packed ☺️☀️ 🥨

They do rotate vendors, so definitely check their page for weekly updates 👀

I picked up my go-to blueberry lavender jam and sourdough from vendors I keep coming back to, plus tried matcha from a new spot — such a nice treat on a warm morning.

Tagging everyone below ⬇️
