POSTS STORIES REELS

It’s time to dig out a few of our favourite trips from the archives.

Pioneering new routes with seven helis across Kenya, taking in remote communities, wildlife and geographic wonders.

The world’s first private submersible dives in Antarctica.

Donating helicopter hours in the Galápagos to translocate giant tortoises, helping establish a population away from their threatened environment.

Privatising an Egyptian temple after hours for an immersive mystery to be solved as a family, complete with actors, musicians and

Or, supporting an elephant translocation from Namibia into Angola, contributing to the country’s rewildling efforts.

Different destinations, cultures and landscape, but the same thread running between them – real access, built over years, to the places and moments that matter most.

This is a small window into what we do.

Twenty years of surveys across seven million hectares in Raja Ampat found just three leopard sharks left in the wild.

This is your chance to rewrite that story, joining scientists from the StAR Project to help re-establish this lost population.

Alongside releasing individuals, you’ll visit shark nurseries behind the scenes and join scientists in monitoring their behaviour in the wild. And, travelling aboard Silolona and Si Datu Bua, you’ll be aboard two of the most celebrated phinisi sailing ships, enjoying all that Raja Ampat has to offer – white-sand beach setups, swimming with mantas and SUPing crystal-clear waters.

A two person film crew can travel with you throughout, and together you’ll fund and co-create a short impact documentary, taking this story to a wider audience.

Our “Behind the Photo” series is designed to bring to life some of the special moments that make up our trips.

Here, our project manager Jack, reflects on a particular image in Angola that’s close to his heart, going into the extraordinary elements that shaped our guests’ stay on an abandoned island – Ilha dos Tigres.

Angola is a truly special destination. Although traditionally thought as the preserve of frontier travel, we’re able to open up its many wonders using bespoke mobile camps, charter flights and some truly epic road trips.

Think waking to otherworldly desert vistas and sipping sundowners beside the river.

Here are five islands you’ve probably never heard of, and every one of them can only really be reached by explorer yacht.

From a Polynesian community deep inside Melanesia to a volcano that’s home to what scientists describe as the world’s largest penguin colony, these are places very few people ever see.

For destinations like these, a yacht becomes your only accommodation, your comfortable base and remote access, all in one.

Swipe through to see where it can lead.

No lifts, no queues, no tracks but your own.

Together with @bellacoolahelisports, the first climate positive heli-skiing operation, @cooksonadventures is taking skiers into the remote mountains of Canada’s west coast this season. Each morning, the helicopter lifts you to ridgelines that have rarely, if ever, been skied. You pick the line with your guides and lay down the first tracks. Then it’s back in the air for the next peak.

With 3.55 million acres of terrain, the largest ski area in the world, there’s always another untouched slope waiting. And at the end of the day, a remote yacht takes you off grid, ready to do it all again.

And, @cooksonadventures have organised some of British Columbia’s most exciting trips, whether that’s taking helis out to secret SUP spots or setting up glass bubble lunch setups atop remote peaks.

Who would you take on the first run?

We are proud to donate this trip to a cause close to our hearts, to be auctioned off at the upcoming @baby2baby Gala.

The winning bidder and up to five guests will spend four nights on @brakoyaisland – a private island in Norway’s Arctic Lofoten archipelago. Alongside the Scandi-chic three-bedroom lodge, you’ll enjoy private-chef dining, premium drinks and days shaped by the season.

Think snowshoeing and ski touring under winter’s northern lights or kayaking and whale spotting under summer’s midnight sun.

Whatever you decide, you’ll return to the comfort of your very own island, complete with panoramic sauna and cold plunge

A Cookson Adventures host will be on the ground throughout, with our project management team looking after every detail behind the scenes.

Thank you to Brakøya for making this possible, and to everyone supporting Baby2Baby.

If you’re interested, get in touch with a member of our team.

A few of our favourite shots from past trips to Tanzania.

Some places belong on everyone’s list at least once, and this is one of them. We’ve developed trips here that are perfect for families who want more than a beach and a pool.

Walk with the Hadzabe, one of the last true hunter-gatherer tribes on earth. Take private helis out to geographic marvels few ever see up close, from blood-red lakes to still-smoking volcanoes. Visit a rhino rehabilitation and conservation centre, and meet the animals at the heart of it. And, let expert trackers bring you across 130,000 acres of private reserve, ending with up-close sightings of the iconic Big Five.

Add Africa’s highest peak, Kilimanjaro, or Zanzibar’s turquoise waters, and the trip becomes something else entirely.

Safari, summit and sea, all in one country. Tanzania demands to be experienced at least once.

Japan has this reputation of serenity.

However, we know how to dial it up. On past trips we’ve forged katanas with master craftsmen, taken helis into remote regions and seen our guests enjoy exclusive access to gastronomic and cultural experiences, usuaully shut off to the piblic.

Or, join river adventures guided by a former Olympian, followed by a tandem paraglide up to 1,200 metres with a gold medal-winning pro, high above a valley of old samurai trails. Then, visit the 12th-generation head of a textile house that has been weaving kimonos since the late 1600s, learning how one is made before trying it on.

And a behind-the-scenes visit to one of the world’s largest aquariums with a marine biologist, helping with feedings and getting close to whale sharks and giant manta rays.

This access comes from the relationships we have built on the ground over many years. It’s the same country, two very different ways to see it.

Looking back on the first manned submersible expedition of Narvik – home to one of WWII’s densest collection of shipwrecks.

This Norwegian town beyond the Arctic Circle has long shaped Europe’s supply of iron ore, with around eighty per cent of the continent’s stock still passing through its port.

That strategic weight made it a prime target during the Second World War, and the fjords around it now hold a multitude of German, British, Norwegian and Polish shipwrecks, resting largely untouched since the battles that sank them.

This year, we organised the first manned submersible expedition to explore these wrecks, giving guests the rare chance to document them firsthand and survey sections of the seabed. That means heading down to depths of 300 metres in comfort, with a marine archaeologist beside you to bring it all to life.

What’s more, there are still wrecks thought to be discovered.

What makes an expedition truly meaningful?

This is Micca Ferrero’s take on the Svalbard expedition, a journey that was about more than reaching remote places. It was an opportunity to reconnect with nature and experience the Arctic from a different perspective.

Far from everyday routines, the journey offered a chance to immerse in an extraordinary environment, rediscover a sense of perspective and reflect on our relationship with the natural world.

Alongside Cookson Adventures and a team of scientists, the expedition brought together people, expertise and a shared spirit of exploration.

Because sometimes, the most meaningful part of a journey is not how far you go, but what you reconnect with along the way.

Some great memories to look back on.

This summer, @HenryCookson_ and @CooksonAdventures took a small group up north to Svalbard aboard Aqua Lares, in partnership with @ICONYachts.

Here, we’ve focused on the epic moments – wild encounters with wildlife, lunch setups on ice and explorations of great glacial environments.

However, there was also a scientific thread running throughout, with guests getting hands-on working alongside whale researchers, running fluke analysis and eDNA work, or working alongside marine archaeologists.

We can’t wait to reveal more.
