I am a passionate collector and seller of vintage. My Etsy shop is "CoolPaisleyCat" , and I also blog at Gold Country Girls.

I painted this frame gold, and then inserted a picture of a lovely painting of persimmons. It sold pretty quickly at the shop. I love it when that happens! 🧡🖼️🤎 by @coolpaisleycat

As if it had not been enough to host me the night before my surgery, to feed and nourish me, and get me to the hospital by 6am, my wonderful friends Kim and John also brought me home yesterday, a journey of 50 miles in holiday weekend traffic. Kim stayed with me Thursday morning until they wheeled me away, and then came back later with this beautiful arrangement of flowers. Sometimes I think I am the luckiest person alive to have the most wonderful friends on earth. I am so grateful, and I feel so loved. 🌸🤍❤️ And they aren’t the only ones that have helped me in that way; I have a host of wonderful friends who have been helping me for the past two months. I AM grateful, and I love every one of them from the bottom of my heart. #newheartvalve #thebestfriendsonearth #gratefulforever by @coolpaisleycat

When you decide that the bread you’re going to use for sandwiches looks a little bit like your first car, then you need to take a picture of it.
Yes, I know that this is ridiculous, but I had to do it. And the sandwiches? San Luis Cracked Wheat Sourdough, Sargento Pepper Jack cheese, and Ortega Chiles, and chicken breast, grilled. Sometimes I have to patch holes in the bread, but it’s my favorite. #grilledsandwich #Ortegachiles #PepperJackcheese #SanLuisSourdough #sandwichesfordinner by @coolpaisleycat

Oh, I see: SUGAR Free Bubble-Up; maybe that’s what Merle meant!? No; I know it wasn’t - but I want some. I think I’d love a float with either lemon sorbet, or lime sherbet. I will wait until the weather warms up again to treat myself to one, if I can find some Bubble-Up. It won’t be free, but you CAN buy it on Amazon, if you want to pay $42.95 for 12 bottles. (Why did I even post this, you ask? Three reasons: 1) I came across this vintage advertisement. 2) I happen to love the song. 3) I wondered if the soda was still available. That’s all.)

While it’s still his birthday (I’m in California, and so is he..), I just wanted to post here and wish the wonderful Dick Van Dyke a most happy 100th birthday!!
I love him, I’ve always loved him. I think he’s absolutely delightful, and one of the most talented actors and entertainers ever, on God’s green earth. From The Dick Van Dyke Show, Bye, Bye Birdie, Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Diagnosis: Murder, and everything else before, during, in between, and after - how LUCKY are we that he’s been here 100 years, so far??!!
Happy, Happy birthday to you, you wonderful man!
Thank you for all of the ways you have entertained us all for decades!
You have truly sent us soaring, up to the highest heights!
🤍🤍🎂🎂 You will always be one of the brightest stars we’ve ever had the pleasure to know! ⭐️ ⭐️ Sending love to you and your dear family and friends. ❤️ #DickVanDyke #dickvandykeshow #dickvandykefans by @coolpaisleycat

I found this original painting yesterday that I think is rather unusual and very pretty. It’s also very nicely framed. Signed only with the initials “CW”. #painting #originalpainting #thriftedpainting #originalart #framedpainting by @coolpaisleycat

Happy National Cat Day from me and our sweet little KatyKat!
Actually, I mostly call her BabyCat, even though she is full grown. But she is just a little slip of a thing and she is the sweetest little kitty cat! We love her.
(I chose this music because they featured it on “NCIS Origins” last night, as a tribute to David McCallum. I thought it was beautiful, and I just wanted to share a snippet of it, today.)

I found this little vintage metal detergent dispenser that someone had hand painted, at a thrift store the other day. I decided it would be perfect for my OxiClean. I may have preferred the original, (especially if it had been an old Ransburg one to match my kitchen canisters), but this is cute, too. Also, the price was right! Vintage, cute, useful? Yes, please! I’m all about it. Oh, and the funnel is there because I haven’t figured out yet whether the lid is rusted on. It doesn’t matter since I was able to easily fill it with a funnel through the spout, and I could see the inside, and that it was clean.

I made a little decoupaged wooden plaque, today. I used a page out of The Country Diary Of An Edwardian Lady; it was a paperback edition that had fallen apart. #toadstool #mushroom #toadstools #mushrooms #CountryDiary #decoupage #decoupaged #decoupagemedium #decoupageart #woodplaque #woodenplaque # by @coolpaisleycat

My friend gave me the prettiest thank you card (for her birthday presents last week), and I love it so much that I think I need to frame it! I’m so happy that you liked your gifts, Patty!

Happy Fourth of July to all, from John Philip Sousa, Uncle Sam, the wonderful artist Lowell Herrero , and little ol’ me! Hope you’re having a Star Spangled Summer Day full of old-fashioned fun and Red, White and Blue celebrations, along with some childlike wide-eyed wonderment, family, friends and food!! And, oh, yes - fireworks, if possible! Wasn’t our flag meant to represent freedom? Forever may she wave!! ❤️🤍💙❤️🤍💙🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 #USA #flag #freedom #longmayshewave #fourthofjuly #starsandstripes #starsandstripesforever #redwhiteandblue #freedomfromfear #lowellhererro #vintagecalendar #1969 by @coolpaisleycat
